Who was the best QB in Miami history?

Dorsey actually should've had 3. I thought we were also the best team in 2000.

You're absolutely right, but it can also absolutely be argued that Dorsey played on the better set of teams. We were dominant during the Walsh days....but that 2001 team Dorsey had was epic.

Like I said before both guys were very similar in that they were both accurate and very intelligent players. I just think Walsh had slightly more talent.

I would agree with this.

I always find it funny that Toretta won a Heisman and is nowhere near this discussion. I'm hoping Olsen can restore the legacy

I think Kelly is the best QB we've ever had. Then it's Walsh, Kosar, Dorsey, Mira. I downgrade Testaverde due to his Jacory-like bowl performances.

I nominate Steve Walsh. The 1988 Hurricane team was ridiculous. Arguably my all time favor team.

Seems like the 80's and early 90s are littered with possibilities, and then you have an old timer like Mira.

We've got:

Jim Kelly: Helped turn around the program, went on to a hall of fame pro career.
Bernie Kosar: Led some great teams
Vinny Testaverde: #1 overall pick and had a long pro career
Gino Torretta: Won the heisman
Ken Dorsey: Only lost 2 games as a starter, should've won 2 National Championships, but had a great supporting cast.

Who would you make the all-time great QB at UM?

i got to go KD. if not for a terrible call he has 2 rings.

Can say the same for Walsh. And there is a good chance we could have beaten Penn St if Walsh plays that game.

Career at Miami:
Steve Walsh- one Cleveland Gary fumble away from back to back championships

Pure QB: Vinny Testaverde

Greatest winner: Bernie Kosar
