Stellar, speed kills would those ends. Literally and that's not geared towards the opposition lol

We will win 7/8 games and Fat Al is out the door, no remorse. Al hasnt been able to address that position since he got here, how the **** is a question I ask myself almost everyday. I **** you not!

Actually, the 3-4 version is not pathetic. Remember, those guys aren't supposed to be pass rushers. They are supposed to contain the run. Pierre is 300 and Chick is 280. They won't get pressure, but they won't get blown off the ball either in the run game. The OLBs will get us the pressure. If AQM and McCord can get to 255, they will be too much for a RB to handle in pass protection.

Wyche and Huertelou are 320 each. If they can force the Playside guard to help out, it frees up the ILB to blow up the play.

Did Moten, Hamilton and Moore honestly not get mentioned? Hamilton and Moore may have under-performed the past two seasons. but **** atleast show Moten some love.

We really need Hamilton, Moore and Kamalu to take huge steps this season. There gonna be Chick, Pierre and the JuCos primary backups and if they can't be counted on our starters are gonna get worn down.

Moten should not be relied upon.

So what happens when teams pass on 1st down and we drop 8 (which we did a lot last season) and we're rushing three 300 pounders and a QB has all day to pick our defense apart?

Also, we were 77th in rushing defense last year with basically the same DL. Those guys didn't do too good of a job holding the point of attack either.

Good point. The issue is Dorito will try to rush with those three players at times. Is not just the scheme, is the game calling during the game as well that sucks

Kamalu HAS to pan out. There is no choice.

All those big DL we were supposed to get that year and he is all we ended up with. You take one off the radar DL when you are the university of ******* Miami, and you better pray to the football gods that he ends up being a player. You can't have zero impact DL in a recruiting class, especially with our JUCO issues. That's a problem that will doom you for years.

Someone mentioned in another thread that maybe if we can duct tape Moore, King, and Hamilton together we can form one ****** D-Tackle.

Depth!

Dude, seriously?! Al is going nowhere this year! This is the "DUMP" year. You don't know how this thing works, do you? Let me explain. If we win 5-6games this year, Al is gonna turn on his "d" Coordinator like a cheap coat, and "DUMP" him under the bus. That will buy him at least 1 more year! When the new DC steps in, the excuse is gonna be, "Well it's his first year, as our DC and we struggled with some things, but we will get it trending up again", #used car salesman. This is how this game is played. Barring a TOTAL failure (6 or fewer wins), Al is going 2 be around for AT LEAST 2 more years!

This thread exemplifies the large reason why we will be mediocre yet again next year, despite Williams supposedly being the next Dorsey, despite our recruiting class, despite whatever.

It all depends on how much Pierre/Kamalu/Hamilton/Heurtelou all develop in the Spring/offseason. I don't foresee King/Moore being in the conversation for starting time at all, no matter how well they develop. There are a lot of different ways that can go, along with the question of who plays DE in the 3-4/4-3 sets.

Plus, I really like Kamalu at the strongside DE in either a 3-4 or a 4-3 set. He's listed at 6'6/285 on the official roster, and everytime he was in last year, he was extremely active. Unless he bulks up to over 300 pounds, I like him at DE.

I also personally like Heurtelou to get early PT. I think his skill set is the most game-ready out of the DT's we got in this last class. I think Moten probably has the highest ceiling, but Heurtelou will make the earliest impact at the position. Wyche/Jenkins/Brown are still really raw (especially Brown), IMO, and will need more time to come along. I think Jelani Hamilton will fit in as a rotation player, backing up Pierre in 4-3 sets, but otherwise--he'll be playing more SDE in 3-4 sets behind Kamalu.

Here's my shot at it:

3-4:

DE - Kamalu
DT - Pierre
DE - Chickillo

4-3:

SDE - Kamalu
DT (Strong) - Pierre
DT (Weak) - Heurtelou/Moten (both guys are quick, and can shoot the weakside gap to make plays, as long as Pierre can take on the C/G in the A gap)
WDE - Chickillo, with Chad Thomas taking some burn as the season goes on.

Only thing is, I don't think Al will dump Mark. He will go down with that ship. I truly believe Al had the PSU job but had to leave Mark home and would not do it. Sadly, I think they die together. Our and their only hope is they decide the scrap Al's horrible defense instead and return to a Cane form of D. 4-3 rush the passer and play run along the way. That probably is not happening either, so it is all up to how much pain Donna can take-- 25,000, 20,000, or 15,000 fans as the loses mount. No UF game this year to sell those season tickets. Al has nothing but a bunch a games that losing could be his end. If Loserville rapes him again to start the season, it is going to get ugly very fast. That game might be the most important of his career, or what is left of it.

3-4

DE Pierre
NT Wyche or Huertelou
DE Chick

4-3
DE Muhammad
DT Wyche or Huertelou
DT Pierre
DE Chik

50 Front will look something more like this:

NT: Heurtelou
DT: Pierre
DT: Chickillo
End: AQM
End: McCord
LB'er: Perryman
LB'er: Kirby
CB: TH3
CB: Gunter
SS: Bush
FS: Jenkins
