I had a knee to the ******* this past Thursday night when I saw my favorite recruit, Jeudy, commit to the enemy. Then there were rumors swirling about Henderson possibly flipping to UF and Wilson following his brother's footsteps to UF. Recruiting, is definitely not for the faint of heart, and all of this gave me a deja vu feeling. I was upset, and disappointed to say the least.

Then this morning, I re-watched The U v. Duke game from last year. Yeah, of course I knew the outcome, but something jumped out at me that I didn't really pay attention to the first time around...ESPN's "keys to victory." They put up that one of Miami's key to victory was...wait for it...TO HAVE FUN.

Huh?? Have fun, was one of our keys to beat a traditional b-ball school?? So it got me interested in re-watching other Miami games, to see what were the keys to victory during those contest. They ranged from, as follow: "Play Fast", "Limit Penalties", "Finish The 4th Quarter", "Let The Dogs Loose". I mean, these were all fundamental things that shouldn't be associated w "keys to victory", yet they were associated w our beloved Canes.

So then my anguish turned into joy, and I was like so the **** what we missed out on some key targets; at least this ain't 2015 anymore!!!

Folks, we're a little more than a month away from entering into a new regime, a regime that'll boast a top 10 coaching staff in the entire NCAA. We're going to boast a top 5 QB in the nation, who has an elite incoming WR class, a top 3, imo, TE, and a pair of former 4* RBs to hand the ball to. We're going to have a defense that's littered w 4* kids finally being allowed to play free, fast, and aggressive.

I started thinking, would we want to be in a position where a kid winds up de-committing from us at the last minute, leaving us scrambling for a 2star JAG to fill his place, or would we rather know where a guy's head is at in July, and either make the decision to either aggressively change his heart during the season or pick from another top priority instead? The first option was the old regime, the second option, that's the new regime.

No longer do we have to see 20 bubble screens in one game, the "check w me" b4 u call a play, the flipping through the play book not knowing what play you want to call, or the defense giving a 15 yard cushion on a 3rd and 3 for the opponent. That's over w. Like Jon Barry said when he called a Summer League featuring Sheldon Mac..."there's only one REAL U, and that's still in Miami." So if a recruit don't want to come here, if they wanna follow the money, instead of hopping on this sleeping giant's back, then so the **** what?! No need to whine about it; it'll be there loss. Fact.

Welcome to 2016, and goodbye 2004-2015.

pretty sure Gus was only a 3 star, and he's only one running back, not a pair of them

You can't be this dumb. Both Yearby and Walton were 4-star recruits. They are the two 4-star RB's that he's referring to. If you don't even know this basic info then I know that you are DEFINITELY no Cane's fan. Go troll somewhere else.

Right on, OP... 2015 is gone as are the past Jersey-raised corches. It only gets better from here on out.

I still think that Yearby is our best RB. He ran for over a 1000 yds. last season behind what may have been our worst OL ever. He has elite quickness, vision, change-of-direction, balance and feet. If he ever gets actual holes to run through before he gets hit, then watch out. He doesn't possess elite top-end speed, but neither did Emmit, Gore (after his knee surgeries), Portis and a bunch of other great RB's.

Of course, I would love to have a Dalvin Cook type-of-talent at RB, but that isn't the case at the moment. In my opinion, Homer has a chance to be special and Walton could be a huge threat running routes out of the backfield (as well as Joe). The key is getting the ball in these dude's hands in open space, then let 'em go to work.

Gus is a physical freak, a specimen, but hasn't shown that he can run with authority or toughness since he's been here. Hopefully he can have an epiphany during this regime and his play can finally match the hype from fans.

Now granted, I know that he was pegged to be our starter last season before he got hurt, but the bottom line is still the same. He hasn't done ****. I'm hoping that the new staff can instill toughness and urgency into him. If so, then he has the size and speed combo to be a formidable player.

Yearby and Walton...you sure ur a fan homie?!

If we're being accurate throw Trav Homer in there. That's three 4-star backs behind Kaaya lol.

That's true, and I was going to throw T Homer in there, but I don't think he was a consensus 4 star; IIRC, 247 had him as a 4 star, but Rivals listed him as a 3 star. Regardless, I know for a fact, T Homer is a true 4 star talent.

CaneTheGaytors: This is a fact. You have a lot of fans shaming Yearby b/c he's not Cook. Yearby may have had one of the best quiet seasons in the history of our program.

He had 0 o-line, w horrible play calling selections, and sharing the rock w another back and still went over 1000 yards (barely, but still)

He's hard to bring down, and in the open field, he will make you miss...like, it's a foregone conclusion. I agree, he doesn't have top end speed, he's not a burner, but he's hella quick in short areas, great hands, and has ridiculous vision. The hate only comes b/c he's not Cook. If Cook wasn't his teammate in HS, then I don't think anyone would hate on him so much.
