Virginia is the lone tourney team on that list. Xavier is in the NIT.
Wouldn't exactly call this an overly impressive list of suitors.
He's still very limited offensivelyHe WAS catching passes inside at season's end that he was fumbling away at season's start. Still hadn't got his footwork down and showed no real shooting touch at all. Not a passer from the key either.
Those schools are on him because, like us, they see "potential." Will potential become results? Who knows.

Most bigs take 2-3 years to develop. It's far less plug and plug than guards. We did a poor job of developing him as a big... a whole season and his footwork is worse than the good HS big

He was very limited defensively too. That's the real problem, he did nothing well. He's still very limited offensively
So bigs who entered the portal were just going to line up to play behind Norchad and his 35 min a game and a 4 star recruit? You truly live in fantasy land.If so, why didn't he get a big from the portal?? You can't have it both ways... just f'n excuses for a **** poor job of roster management, development and coaching this season
If you want to blame the staff for anything, it was assuming that Cleveland could fill the Jordan Miller role. He's more of a natural 3.It's not illegal to play a big next to Omier

Cohen would have been a perfect fit next to Omeir with is shooting...It's not illegal to play a big next to Omier
Or, poor job of evaluating him in HS. He was much more raw than i woulda thought remotely possible. We did a poor job of developing him as a big... a whole season and his footwork is worse than the good HS big
Bensley and Wooga were borderline unplayable as freshmen and made huge jumps as sophomores. I don't see how having similar expectations for Watson and Casey - who flashed at times as freshmen - were so farfetchedThat's one thing. I'm still not letting them off the hook for thinking Watson, Casey, Nwoko, etc. would be an adequate bench.
We went after a bunch of players in the portal. Only Cleveland cameThat's one thing. I'm still not letting them off the hook for thinking Watson, Casey, Nwoko, etc. would be an adequate bench.
He's barely played so I don't think that matters to himJakai transferring one year before he graduates makes no sense. He should have left last year. He will end up at lower level mid major
Yea well those guys were all 4 star recruits and 2 of them had a decent amount of game and even tournament experience. So no it was not a wild assumption to think they'd make a decent bench. We certainly all thought so.That's one thing. I'm still not letting them off the hook for thinking Watson, Casey, Nwoko, etc. would be an adequate bench.
100%. He showed at times he can be a rim protector and a willing rebounder. He was lost in man. Definitely a work in progress. He had the potential to start for us next year. At this point, we are better off pulling in a mid-major, upperclassmen big.He WAS catching passes inside at season's end that he was fumbling away at season's start. Still hadn't got his footwork down and showed no real shooting touch at all. Not a passer from the key either.
