Kids get in the portal for two reasons... to get paid and to get drafted... the good ones don't do it for wins.

There is no better example than Cam Ward. That will help us for more than losing out on the title game will hurt us.

Where was Ward on qb board last year? 6-10?
Nuss falls outside of top 5 as of now, but can clearly change that

We constantly bash teams for only relying on the portal, including @DMoney. Now that we’re about to lose a tone of commits, it’s seems we’re shifting our strategy to the portal making it seem it was our plan all along. It’s hypocritical if you ask me. I just have little faith that the staff will be able to land the stud dbs in the portal. Long-term, our db room looks extremely concerning. This issue needed to be addressed long term through high school recruiting, and we are failing once again with it

Double edge sword w portal
We were able to identify 3 good to great players on offense:
Carpenter Martinez and ward
On d, barron at one point, Barrow at others. Total misses in secondary.
Just don't want to be fsu like in year 2

It seems like we’re now taking steps backwards, which we really can’t afford to do

While i hate losing last 2 of 3, 10-2 and 2 very good recruiting classes in the barn... not sure we are heading backwards
But I feel the same. We have no momentum right now. A top 15 class w 2, 3 instant impact portal guys can change that

Our defensive performance and losses vs GT and Cuse really change the narrative on us. **** Shame.

Funny thing about narratives. One change in direction can shift that narrative
We need a couple of short term wins.
