Who is this Casey Thompson kid?

He's a 2018 dual-threat QB recruit. One look at the first play in his Hudl highlights shows he's not a coal shoveler.

I'm as vocal as anybody about needing to prioritize South Florida, but complaining about recruiting nationally is ignorant if we're leaving the state for trench players or top talent. Besides, this is a 2018 kid. Relax.

Casey Thompson, Southmoore, Dual-Threat Quarterback

Some of you need to realize there's talent outside of south Florida and even Florida itself. Chill the **** out

Every snap from shotgun or pistol....I wonder how he does under center with 2-3 seconds less to ID the defense.

Maybe he doesn't play under center in college...who knows what offense we will be running 2 or 3 years from now? Identify the best athletes, get them in the boat, and adapt your coaching style to your roster.

Also worth pointing out that Richt has enjoyed varying levels of success with quarterbacks running the gamut from Charlie Ward and DJ Shockley to David Greene and Matt Stafford and Chris Weinke.

Lol at critiquing going out of state for a quarterback. Also, double lol lol at the idea of "all the talent in florida" at the QB position.

Mechanics are inconsistent, but he reminds me of Romo a little. Doesn't really throw/pitch the ball as much as he "flicks" it with his wrist. Seems to rotate his torso to get the requisite power on the ball. Obviously a really good mover. Solid offer.

Thanks Mr. Jaworski

Kid will not come here. How many dual threat QB's has Mark Richt coached? So many other coaches will be in this kids head we will not have a chance. Especially if Kaaya leaves after this season and Allison goes off in 2017.

Richt can just shoe them his resume of putting qbs in league.

Quite a few honestly. Not as many as pro style guys, but he will make an offense fit his QB. It's honestly one of the reasons I'm convinced he's a good coach.
