It's crazy that people forget Adrian Peterson should have won the Heisman as a freshman. They refused to give it to a freshman at the time though. He's not my top choice, but definitely deserves a mention.
And then Tebow getting it as a sophomore was controversial, and that wasn’t even 20 years ago. Crazy how quickly times have changed.

There are so many great players I've watched on TV that it's almost impossible to narrow it down, but if we're talking live and in person it's hands down Marshall Faulk.

I sat in the OB and watched Faulk run for 150 against the 1991 CANES D as a true freshman. After that I watched every SDSU game that was televised until he left for the NFL.

There are others who I've seen in person who were otherworldly such as Vick, Bush and Peterson...but Faulk will always stand out because of what he did that night against our D.

another name i'll throw out there is Tyron Smith. I remember watching Southern Cal when he was a freshman, and he looked like a tight end with impossibly long arms. he was stone-walling kids at like 250 pounds.
