Who is the greatest non Cane CFB player you have ever seen?

Good call on Percy. He gets overshadowed by Tebow but arguably, he made that offense tick not Tebow. Unique player.
In almost 200 career college carries, he averaged 9.5 yards per rush. I mean, it’s just ridiculous

I really appreciate you bringing up this topic because you have had me thinking about it since this morning. Other posters said Herschel Walker and it got the old c drive working. I remembered that when I was a little kid I saw Walker smoke Darrell Green (iykyk), Jose Canseco, and some random white guy. Thought Alzheimer's got me early, but no. See below.

What do you think of Randy Moss?
I can't give anybody that played against a lesser teir of opponents a pass like that. It's not like he did anything when he was at Florida State before he got kicked out. His only college football experience was that Marshall. Same reason I won't mention Troy a very good friend of mine Troy Davis when he was at Iowa State to put two years back to back of 2000 plus yards rushing together it's pretty **** impressive and he played against better competition than Moss did and Marshall but it's still wasn't no world beater competition. Those other dudes were playing savages week to week & murdering everything

Barry Sanders junior year.... God Mode activated...
What Barry Sanders did was on another level. I mean a level we may never see again.
To me it was the greatest season by one player ever.... The numbers are just ridiculous.... and then he backed it up at the Pro level....
For anyone that wants to understand what God Mode is watch this -

You can still link it to Youtube... sorry..

Yeah I get that. He was ridiculously talented and playing against weak competition. What's he like off the field? I've always heard he's a ****.

And I will go to my grave believing Barry Sanders had the greatest season in college football history.

Randy is nothing but a *******. Unless you're a country boy like him. If he can relate to you he's great. I ain't never related to him and we were both far too competitive. I wouldn't argue that statement with Barry but I'm also not 100% on board with it.

What am I supposed to take from this brother? Is this your way of saying he didn't only show out on average comp? I don't think he didn't play anyone in college. I think week in and week out he played the girls YMCA with a random exception.

I think it's pretty conclusive that it didn't really matter, given he went on to be a NFL HOF'er & whatnot...

Randy Moss is the most electric WR to ever play the game & undeniably one of the top 3 greatest ever. His college comp was inconsequential to his talent.

That's the point.

For me, when discussing GOAT players, it has to go beyond aggregate production, because that's a product of many things, not the least of which is whether a player stayed all 4 yrs or not. Therefore the most important criteria imo should be transcendent moments & a player's peak; both of which are typically encapsulated in winning the Heisman & NC in the same yr. The following players are my GOATs..

The title of the thread said CFB hence the only reason I said what I said. Just like Megatron they both proved who they were eventually and can't take nothing from either of them. Obviously they both prove themselves to be generational talents but when one is playing at Georgia tech against nobody in an offense I rarely threw the ball and the other is playing at Marshall with the first round quarterback who proved exactly that competition was what made him out to be a first round quarterback That's all that came down to for me just the emphasis on or talking about college football not what they became as football players it's like Ray. When he was in college he was a **** good linebacker he was a beast of a linebacker but he's not what he became in the NFL in the NFL he became one of the top two top three best ever middle linebackers to put pads on. In college you wouldn't have said that. Not trying to knock Randy for his accomplishments at all He's arguably speaking the best wide receiver in the history of the game I'm not sure I'd say is but I wouldn't knock somebody that did say is he's definitely one of the best ever but would you have said that based on Marshall.
