I'm with you on this. I love the 2001 team as much as anybody(greatest team ever) but the fact is it was 13 years ago. We have to stop living in the past. If this doesn't motivate our team for next season, then I don't know what will.

Motivation doesnt create talent, at the end of the day thats how cfb is the most talent wins. We gotta start closing strong if not fsu will be better. I expect them to beat us for 2 more years the way they recruit. It suks but we cant do **** this is what UM is now.

I wouldn't say we can't do anything. If we can get some good assistant coaches, consistent QB play, and get the right players on defense we can take them down within a year or two. But our current staff isn't going to cut it. No player development, halftime adjustments, leaders(*Duke), scheme sucks, etc.

01 Miami pummeled opponents but is mainly known for the amount of good to great NFL players it had. Time will tell with this FSU team.

The 2001 team is the GOAT but it didn't get established as such til the actual success of those kids in the NFL. You are correct time will tell but I got money on our Canes but I sure as **** can't laugh at what the Noles did this year. In fact I'm ****ed off, this administration needs to get it **** together or get left behind. I understand academic standing and that it is of outmost importance, but if USC can be higher than us there and still care about its FB program, so should/could we. We let this garbage go on, and let them walk into our territory and take our best players and then win with them and pretty soon it won't be 5>2, but 5>3, and may be next year 5>4, and pretty soon it's a wrap. I said it before I'm goin down with the ship, but god **** I furious right now.

I get u but the SEC knows D wins titles and they will do anything to close strong and we wont. They took 6 Keef bostwick valentines gone and alot alot more. If we cant get those kids its over no matter whos coach. Jimbo isnt great we all laughed at him for his xs and os, now look his recruiting paid off. There no player developement for a kid like stacy coley or whitfield, u just give them the ball and they get it. Im tired of all those kids leaving i hate it but everyones expectations should be down just based on recruiting.

Glad you guys mention this.We're sounding like Beano Cook praising those great teams of the 40s and 50s.Who gives a fack anymore.It's almost 15 years since then and like someone else mentioned since 92 which is 22 years ago FSU and UF have 3 NCs and we have 1.

The paradigm has changed. If you want to win in college football now, you better land an elite QB. It is a QB driven game now.

No one is touching that 01 team. Only one that had a chance of getting with in 20 pts of that team is the 95 Nebraska team.

Love the enthusiasms, but Miami had two games with less than 20 point margins in 2001...so your argument is a bit moot.

I have no idea how their NFL prospects will pan out in the league (knowing FSU's track record, it'll be good, but not great), but this team, standalone in college football, will go down as an All-Time great team. It hurts the soul, but it is what it is.

They had the worst strength of schedule of any BCS team coming into this game.... barely beat Auburn. In other words, I disagree.

That bc game we didn't get up for. Everyone knows that. Thats been miami 's problem for yrs. I'll give u that. That VT game was Luck cause of those wack *** blocked punts helped put them in the game. But ask Washington and Syracuse who was both nicely ranked about how close they came?

2001 Canes would get seriously out coached by either of these teams. They would have to rely on out-athleting the other team.

Doubtful. FSU is not some team with an amazing scheme. They run an extremely simple offense and their D is kinda straight forward as well. They just have great position coaches and players and execute extremely well. In college it is not so much the scheme but the execution (maybe some schemes make it easier to execute, but whatever). UM in 2001 was similar in that regard, except our players were way better than theirs. We would man up P-Buch on Rashad Greene, and he wouldn't do much. He feasts against zone defenses, not the man under D we ran back then with two elite CB's. And Rumph was a big **** who could give Benjamin a ton of problems, especially when we pressed both and effed up Winston's timing. Fisher isn't some genius who is going to outscheme Randy to bolivian. In fact, our style of D we played back then would give this FSU offense a ton of problems.

Chud would be fine against Pruitt as well.

Mcdougle couldn't be blocked..... Wolford comes in fresh and dominate oh Yea some villa and Dj kid too. Oh yea... Even if Winston made the right read on a blitz ed Reed would have been there for a pic 6......no one is seeing them!!!!!!
