I think Joaquin got mad when Alin tweeted that he got another offer which is from Syracuse...So basically hes saying Your all in with Us or go somewhere else n stop tweeting other stuff....

Knowing Gonzo, it wasn't a racist tweet at all. It was more to do with clownery and attention-starvation.

Still very weird.

I don't believe that Gonzo is racist at all either. I also have little doubt that his mention of Jacory Harris was a portrait of his stereotyping. Being a racist and stereotyping are two totally different things. Joaquin chose Jacory Harris for a reason. For christ sake, if you want to point out terrible QB play, why not use Kirby Freeman/Kyle Wright? Both of them were far worse than Jacory EVER was.

Again, I don't think he was pointing out terrible QB play. He was probably pointing out overtweeting and self-serving attention at the expense of a team attitude.

It's just weird and ironic because he contradicted it by going at the guy.

Attention-starvation? Kid is glad he got an offer from a prestigious school. **** Joaquin for that stupid **** regardless of where Alin ends up. Its still a 17 year old kid that is just trying to take this all in.

Not to get into a racial discussion, but you are correct there and always will be racists of all kinds, since the dawn of time it has existed. Perhaps he is or is not, don't know or care quite frankly. Regardless attacking any kid or recruit, regardless of the circumstances is still not cool. You want to take him on his soft stance now, no problem, any former player has as much right to that, but can't deny there does seem to be some racial overtones on this one, when you consider that Jacory was always all cane, no matter how mediocre he ended up being. Devil's advocate is perhaps he thinks he is a Jacory type player as far as how he will end up being. And believe me I am one who definitely believes the race card is used way too much when critiquing a certain player because of the color of their skin or style of play or both.

And finally, one thing that I feel I have to say, is that there is a fine line between racism and prejudices, everyone is prejudiced, though varying degrees, there is a prejudice among everyone, where racism is not, nor do I believe is as prevalent in general. Does it exist? absolutely, but the majority of rational people are not racist, yet they all have a prejudice. Boom dropping a philosophical bomb! And ruining this post with that last sentence lol

Not disagreeing with your conclusion. Just giving contrast to making this about skin color.

I agree, I dont think it had racial intent but the overall message he was trying to send was just plain dumb.

If he tweeted that, then he's a big dopey piece of ****. Funny thing is that Gonzalez is a very book smart dude. He was on his way to Harvard coming out of HS but decided to walk on here. He hasn't translated those book smarts into a shred of common sense or decency though. He must be miserable in his life to broadcast something like that to a 17 year old kid.

that's pretty well said. and at the same time puts to bed the race discussion in this thread

In all honesty, who gives a ****? Kid is all Miami but he's announcing all his offers and an old school Cane called him out on it.

I wonder if Joaquin followed the Keef saga and doesn't want to see more of this ****:

No that's not what he meant at all. I'm sure that'll be the spin, but the Noodles Harris comment makes it obvious that's not what he meant because Noodles wasn't a wishy washy recruit at all.

Da Fugg?

This better not be about race, because nobody better be out there going #noquieroStephenMorris.

Think it's just stupidity. Too many blows to the head or something.

I really think he just caught up in using twitter and lets his thoughts flow where they should've been filtered. at first I thought it had racial overtones for sure but now I'm thinking perhaps it had to do with his perceived style of play being perhaps mediocre in his eyes. and perhaps thought he was using the twitter for attention especially being committed and tweeting about another offer(ironic given his tweet himself)
