Meh, I'm not ready to concede based on a Barry Jackson article citing an unnamed source. For all we know he is just regurgitating Pete's info from this board.

Maybe they feel a little more confident in the talent they have on campus already? Not sure. Jackson should be a no-brainer.
I love it when Pete speaks in definitives.

Hi, my name is Pete Ariz and I have cable.
Didn't he just sign that WR Harris who got kicked out of that prison yard program Old **** for off field issues? If Old Urine kicks you out you can be sure that you were a problem.Per Barry Jackson's Herald article today:
"Despite a need at cornerback, UM has decided not to pursue former four-star cornerback JC Jackson (acquitted on armed robbery) or get involved with former four-star Booker T. Washington corner Nigel Bethel (who isn't participating in spring practice at Texas Tech) because Mark Richt doesn't want to bring in players who have had off-field issues, a UM administrator said. Bethel had an altercation with a female basketball player in 2014."
Miami is a UNIVERSITY, not just a football program.
There's no way we're going to go sign a thug who has had legal problems. Let him go to the SEC.

What past legal problems? He doesn't have $h!+ on his record.... RIGHT NOW! That means he can still work for the city, state, county and government. I don't see any "legit" reason why JC cannot attend the U with a clean record. Do you know him personally? If not, there is no reason to classify him as a thug without breaking any laws.

I would not refer to someone as a "thug" without knowing a lot more about the situation. On the other hand, this is obviously NOT a football decision. In terms of football, of course UM would be delighted to get such a talented player. My guess (and that's all it is) is that the university looked into the matter and decided that they just did not want J. C. to be part of the UM campus community. Most kids that want to go to UM get rejected. Sounds as if J. C. falls into that group. For anyone upset that he was not given a second chance, you can relax. I can practically guarantee that he will receive other offers to play ball.

A second chance would mean he has some type of crimminalrecord...correct? "If," what you say is true, either somebody stereotyped JC or knows something that wasn't made public. I just can't see a kid of his caliber getting rejected by admissions for any other reason at all.
A truly gifted player who is probably better than any defensive back on the present team,,save Corn...Why wouldn't you take him with the situation in the DB.
