What would need to happen in order to win the title this yr?

The NCAA grants Ken Dorsey the weirdest hardship exemption in the history of collegiate athletics allowing him to return for another season. They cite his tenure with the Browns as the specific hardship.

Yep, the Florida game was meaningful. History did prove that that was the worst UF team in 30 years, with one of the worst coaches of all time.

And the team got worse in every aspect from that game on, finishing as one of the most sickening teams in UM history.

But we got the win ove the Gatas. Thank Christ we never play them again!

If we had a time machine that went back to 2010 and hired Butch Davis as HC and stayed the fck out of his business w the team, then we'd have a good shot this year.

We have a lot of weapons on the offensive side of the ball with plenty of depth in the skilled positions along with a pretty strong offensive line.

Where does this notion of us having a pretty strong OL come from? We play anyone with a pulse on the defensive side of the ball, they're repeatedly stuffed. Our short yardage runs on 3rd and short were pathetic.

Love the optimism, but that's all your post was.

1. Get lucky with injuries.
2. Have a playmaker QB, not a game manager.
3. Become a lot more skillful blitzing.
4. Cover receivers at least 10% better.
5. Find or develop DTs who can consistently collapse the pocket.

1. Heaps plays up to his potential. 25+ tds, less than 7 ints,, high 3rd down completion rate.
2. Wyche, Hertelou come in and dominate at the line of scrimmage.
3. McCord, AQM get near 20.sacks between the 2 of them.
4. FSU takes a step back this year
5. Stay relatively healthy. No major injuries to our key players.

These five things happen and I like our chances. There is enough talent at the skill position in Duke, Coley, Dorsett, to be deadly on offense. We should be in every game. Oh add solid kicking game to the list. Most MNC teams need a bailout FG to win the game.

You might as well have added, if we score more points than our opponents we will win our games.

The odds are stacked against even one of the things you listed 1-3 from happening.

Does anyone with a brain expect Wyche and Hertelou - who have never played D1 football - to "come in and to dominate the line of scrimmage"? What did Hertelou do in the spring to suggest that we have a dominant DT in the fold? ****, most sentient posters are hoping they just don't get blown off the ball like our previous DTs.
