What will it take for us to really go after linemen.

TBH it may be a geographic issue in recruiting ... Most of the elites 4* and 5* lineman are in the heart of the $ECouth, Midwest, North (Like the fact we ARE reaching up there -NYC anes ) South West regions.

If we can't keep the elite talent to stay home it's going to be a hard pull to bring them down here and that's 95 +5 = I let you all say the last line.....

Go Canes!

Its not a geographic issue

The last few cycles have seen a ton of lineman that Searless refused to recruit end up at P5 schools.

I don't think recruiting linemen has been the issue as much as developing them has been. We've had more 4 star linemen busts here than any other position by a mile. Guys who were highly touted recruits never really got better here. We have 4 star guys on the roster currently who have been jumped by younger, lower rated guys.

In the most recent recruiting article Ivins was talking about the oline recruiting bord (don’t know what it said since i don’t have premium)

We recruited plenty of high rated OL. Plenty of teams don't get high rated after high rated. They are hard to evaluate and to develop. Teams like Wisconsin and Stanford have great OL tradition. They have great coaches, also their players almost always redshirt or if they don't they are 1 underclassman among 4 upperclassmen.

No kidding. Both sides of the ball. We're hyping Nesta and then DJ Dale shows up for Alabama and within weeks is far superior to anyone we've had in years. Josh Myers looks phenomenal at center for Ohio State. But who doesn't look phenomenal for Ohio State? They have at least 15 guys who have flashed so far.

It is the difference between elite talent and make believe talent.
