What has the team really lost?

True we may have gotten beaten by FSU but to maintain an edge in recruiting and moving foward, you have to win games. Look at UF. This impacts recruiting it's not just for this year but future years.

Anyone on here who came into this season expecting to win the title was delusional. Hopeful to win the title, is a homer, but nothing wrong with that. Most fans who kept realistic expectations expected no more than 2-3 losses, but winning the coastal should have been expected or at least in serious consideration. UNC is down, VT is down, Duke is Duke, GT is GT. We had a wide open path to the ACCCG.

What most of you defending our current position don't understand is that we are not complaining about our wins and losses (except for some on Duke). We are complaining that our defense is an embarrassment. This is WOAT type of defense. You keep saying we should be happy with 8 wins. What you don't understand is I am not happy when we go to play a 2-8 Virginia team and I am actually afraid we might lose. What's worse is if their receivers could catch, there is a very good chance we would have lost.
 
I don't care about record. ****, when it comes down to it, I don't even care all that much about our position in the ACC this season.

What has me furious is that WE SUCK. I'm pretty sure several local HIGH SCHOOL football teams could play us down to the wire. That isn't me exaggerating. That isn't me over-reaching to make a point. A team that can struggle and play as poorly as we have, to the ****** opponents we've had, over the last 6 weeks or so could in fact be given a run for their money by some of the elite high school teams down here. And that is ridiculous.

8-3, with our schedule, looking how we've looked and playing how we've played, makes this feel like a 3-8 season. So THAT is why some of us (the rational ones, anyways) are upset. Furious, even.
 
No sane person expected to win the national title. I didn't expect to win the ACC title, but it was a goal, one I didn't think was far fetched until I saw how good FSU really was. I expected to win the Coastal and it was a goal to win to the ACC title and go to a BCS Bowl. Every year at Miami we should expect to go to a bowl and win the Coastal. Winning the ACC should be a goal, and within a couple of years, we should, hopefully be competing for national titles.

I expected us to show improvement. I expected to enjoy watching our games. I expected to look forward to next season.

None of these went as I hoped, unfortunately.

Agreed. We returned 18 or 19 starters depending on how you counted some guys. We added JUCO and graduate transfers on defense. We played a much easier schedule, and we're as bad as we were last year. So **** frustrating.

they were expected to win the coastal and considering how weak the coastal was this year, it was an easily attainable goal. the writers expected us to finish third in the ACC behind clemson and FSU so we underachieved and lost out on the coastal twice. we still haven't won the coastal outright and made it to charlotte yet which was the absolute goal. golden even said the goal was to get to charlotte this year.

I Hope The OP knows every media outlet before the season Picked THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI to win THE COASTAL!! Our schedule was charmin soft AND WE RETURNED 19 STARTERS.. We caught TWO breaks and still blew the coastal.. This season is a complete Failure..
