What Coley means for development and play calling

Jimbo begged him to stay, offered more money than us for him to stay and offered to turn over all play calling to him.

Stoops offered him the Kentucky OC job.

FIU offered him the HC job.

Isn't that all you need to know about what people think about him?

The reason he left is because Jimbo is bullheaded and refused to give him play calling duties. As far as the hiring as a whole goes, I like it. We now have 3 of the best recruiters in the country on the same staff. Coley is a reason that FSU was able to get alot of kids from south Florida over the past few years, so as far as recruiting at home, this cant do anything but help. I also think that if hiring him helps to flip even one of FSU commits, that its that much better for us. People frowned at the hiring of Fisch because of his performance as an OC at Minnesota. When Coley was at FIU, it was a similar situation to what Jedd had with the Gophers. He wasnt working with much and as a result you cant judge it strictly on wins/losses or stats from their time in college. Hiring Fisch worked out pretty well for us. Like Fisch, Coley also has NFL experience and worked under Saban, which I think says something about his potential as a coach. What i dont think can be said enough is the benefit of him having game planned for Jimbos offense. The FSU offense isnt going to change and I think thats also a huge benefit for us in terms of that game.

As for our offense, nothing will change. Its the offense Al wants to run and its the offense that the kids were recruited to run. I trust Al and dont think theres anyway that the offense changes. My only real concern is the fact that hes only worked with QBs since Dameyune Craig left for Auburn. Morris doesnt worry me, but the rest of the young QBs that are here already and Olsen will need to be developed by somebody. Right now this staff doesnt have anybody who has worked with QBs before, which concerns me. I do trust Al though, and Im confident that he does have a plan, personally I would feel better knowing we had somebody I knew could help to develop the young QB talent that we have behind Morris.
