WF vs FSU

It's not rocket science, kids.

Here's a task for you - list the devastating pass rushers we have on the roster.

Struggling? That's why we run a conservative, bend but don't break, defence. We challenge the other team to march down the field >10 yards at a time. That takes a level of efficiency that few teams have.

Going forward, looking at this recruiting class, we want to get after the QB and be disruptive, but right now we don't have the horses. This style of D is about being practical.

Difficult to rush the passer when you DEs are asked to engage and read.

These people need to stop making excuse. Our defensive philosophy is to wait till every offense does something then react to it after they run the play. When you have never coached at a blue blood program, its quite acceptable and necessary to run this type of defense where you are most always overmatched athletically. I guess we are overmatched by every team we play. Golden is a good head coach imo, he has an aura about him. But Dno is not right for our tradition on defense
You think golden would ever hire a 4-3 DC and let the DC control tge defense?

Until we are able to generate pressure with 4 men we will play conservative.

Also FSU is light years ahead of us.

You really should just stop posting....FSUs pass rush was so bad they had to move Christian Jones to DE to get any pressure. You know what Christian Jones isn't? He isn't a 280lb DE who's asked to engage and protect a gap....he's AQM and McCord allowed to play on multiple downs.

Mingo was a 290 pound beast at LSU yesterday, when in reality he played at 230 pounds a junior,I wonder what he weighed as a sophmore. Today FSU has Julius Peppers, Sapp and Freeney rushing the passer.

Ilovelamp and his cronies have stated multiple times that we have WF,BC, La Monroe type talent. We need at least 4 more years before we can compete with FSU.

It never occurs to people that it's both lack of talent and a super safe scheme.

Our base defense makes zero sense as I've said many times. A front four of Green, Pierre, Porter, and Chick provides zero pass rush. It should be Pierre/Renfrow, Porter, and Chick/Luther, and have AQM and Tyriq as OLB.

Knew this was going to be a blowout when I heard that the wide receiver they threw the ball to 20 times in our game was out injured.

Another fsu suckout/D'Onofrio is the devil thread. YAY!!!!!!!

every thread turns into an anti-D thread.... you could start a thread about taking your dog for a walk and it would turn into Coach D's not owning a vicious pitbull and that reflects his overall mind set

(not to mention that the reason he doesn't have a team of pitbulls is because Shannon left him a bunch of three legged poodles)

Why is it that FSU's freshman DBs aren't asked to play 15 yards off the opposing WRs?

Then the worst part of only using McCord and AQM on third down it becomes predictable, it becomes easy to scheme around.

How much ******* longer are we going to use this excuse? Jesus ******* christ.

I love Golden, but he will NEVER win anything with this conservative D philosophy.

It's been 3 years at some point you need to hold these coaches accountable. If Shannon's players are garbage develop the studs you recruited and play them.

Why is this so hard to understand? If we have Jags starting at positions we can't run an aggressive D. Do you trust highsmith back there alone? Well that's what an aggressive D would do. Instead we have a system where if cornelius, highsmith, or some other JAG messes up it has a limited effect, instead of a touchdown everytime.

Then tell them to learn how to play better zone coverage and play against the run. I.e. what the coaches are currently working on

He didn't do **** against them last year. I know its sounds crazy that a college defense stopped that kid.

no the reason the dont play is because we are building a team of sumo wrestlers. Where strength is the biggest attribute because you are to lock on to the blocker and don't move. Perfect system for jags like shayon greene. No quickness but strong as a ox. How does smaller teams stop the run? You think instead of asking them to do things they are not good at, they ask them to do things they are good at....Like AQM and McCord, you think it be wise to allow them to use their quickness instead of flexing against way bigger OL all in the name of holding a gap every play?

It still falls on the D coord and scheme. Take AJh's snaps and give them to Burns, or Crawford. Y would you EVER put him out there while Artie and Crawford are on the sideline? I would like one person to respond and say they would rather have him on the field than the 2 guys I named. There is no rule that says you have to play 2 safeties. Play the other guys until Bush gets right. But NEVER put him on the field other than special teams.
