Westley Neal

URI is a decent academic school so don’t think this is grades related. They just went 2-10 in FCS so doesn’t say too much about his level of talent IMO

STOP LYING URI IS NOT A GOOD ACADEMIC SCHOOL OTHER THAN FOR LIBRARY SCIENCE. they are a huge party school (Cranston coochie is good coochie).

He would have been better off walking on at UCF or USF. Westly is gonna be Wicked Cold up there.

Westley didn't get any committable FBS offers?

I can't believe that. Thats wild, man.

Westley is short for a DT and has short arms which makes it extremely hard to disengage from taller olinemen. Neal dominated against smaller and weaker high school OL so he looked very impressive but against a quality HS olinemen he would have struggled. He had a good game against BTW but not a dominant game unlike Apopka's DT Jalen Carter.

Unfortunately for the young brother he came up short of his UM goal. Hopefully his love for the Canes stays strong.

For reference the 2020 3* Blake Burris is 6' 3" on a good day an clearly Neal is 4 to 6 inches shorter than Burris so that puts Neal in that 5'10 to 5'11 range. But again good luck to him wherever he signs.

If he got into a university... it wouldn’t be a grades. He’s go to JUCO. That’s just his best option.

I heard it was a test score issue....

All of D1 uses the same sliding scale so if he qualified for Rhode Island then qualified for Indiana and Rutgers.

So I would check your source who told you it was a grades issue on why Neal committed to URI.

****, Rhodes Island is slight notch up from Wagner.

Oh it's way higher than just a notch, based on the quality/freakiness of the Lady Ram Coeds. Those Portuguese ladies maybe a little hairy, but they are frisky and have crazy stamina. Westly better bring his recipe for strong back, front end lifter, and magnum!

I mean, I get it. Rhode Island is a big drop off...this kid had - at times - legit offers from P5 schools...low end P5 schools, but P5 schools. Earlier in the winter, G5 schools were supposedly heavy into him...Colorado State was mentioned earlier...I've personally heard App State and FIU mentioned, too.

Maybe Rhode Island just did a great job recruiting him. idk. Seems like a big fall for a guy that by all accounts is a good student, good enough player despite some limitations. Might have to ask around on this one, because it seems weird to me.

URI is the safety net for the safety net. The best thing he can now is enjoy his time playing football, enjoy as much Portuguese and Cape Verde big girl Luvin he can get and keep his grades up. Then grad transfer as a senior and get a free mastes degree from some other FCS school.

You are right FBS and FCS uses the same sliding scale. The difference is an FCS school may be more apt to take an academic redshirt candidate.

👍 ..... now if you want talk Syracuse (except for the Keith Smart jumper from the side 😡) I can go on and on ...... 😉
Same here. I'm from N.E. PA. I went to high school with Bill Celuk. And G-Mac was right down the road. Lol. I'm a big Cuse b-ball fan too.

Just go to FAM and get it over with, kid. We'd love to have you...

Man them FAMU coeds got to much attitude, college punani is supposed to be easy and stress free. At URI Westly will get punani by da pound. Lol.
