You mean this defense for a decade ago ? Matter of fact take avery close look and tell if it looks indentical to what UM runs now. That defense was average to good then an he is running the samething now.

this is pretty much his ceiling. idk why anyone would want that. it is putrid still. look deeper into results such as yards per play. that 2004 defense gave up over well over 5 ypp iirc. that is ******

the talent is not allowed to go out and play instinctively and with aggression. they are forced to think too much and react and play passively. it completely negates the talent that we may have.

Literally if we had the same team we have right now an brought in Dave Aranda from Wisconsin who runs a 3-4 scheme that blitzs getting off the bus. Aranda has had a defense ranked in the top 15 of at least one key defensive category. He is young coach with intense energy and best of all he is ambitious not to mention in the last year of his 2 yr contract with Wisconsin and for $600k he would come to miami an make UM a top 5 team ( overall not just defense) overnight. Wisconsin can't afford to counter the $600k, they had to have a special board regents meeting to approve paying Aranda $500k in his current contract.

Aranda's defense gave Steve Spurrier all he could handle deep into te 4th quarter in the 2014 Capital One Bowl, despite being thoroughly out classed interms of team speed by South Carolina.
If UM needs to hire a new DC after this season, this is the guy the administration should go balls to wall in terms of strong arming Golden to hire someone outside of his network.
