We self imposed 5 scholarships last year

That seems like a right number. Does this mean UM is expecting 15 over 3 years?

I would be ****ed if the final punishment was 15 over 3, even if 1 year is done.

Just to review

- 2 Bowl Bans (1 ACC Title Game)
- X Years and Z Months of the negative recruiting
- Tanked Investigation
- Extremely Compliant with investigation prior to it going down the $hitter
- Coaches and Players are gone

A lot of people believed the ruling would come out during UF week.
I know the NCAA doesn't like Miami but I doubt they are waiting for some "big event" to announce Miami's punishment to "get at" the school. I thought those post were funny.
When they are finished they will release it. I don't even worry about this any more. Just let me know the results of it all. Then I'll be one of two things. ****ed or ecstatic. They say any minute now and any day. Hopefully before the season ends we will hear something.

I thought they were going to do it right before swamp scum game; at least a rumor through Yahoo, to mess us up. Didn't happen, so next thig that would hurt would hold off util after NSD again. Unless they are saving it for fswho, ACCCG or the NC. It is impossible to believe it will come at least painful moment--leopards do not change their spots.

Agreed. I guess I'm in the minority that thinks we skate. So I've figured they'd announce it during a time where they will receive the least amount of heat and public backlash for it. IF they waited until after the season it wouldn't be smart because there is nothing else going on. But the way this is going I suspect we'll hear from them after the NC or before the regular season get's out.

If for some otherworldly reason the punishment is severe then I could see them announcing it during one of our big games as you've just mentioned. It's just time for this thing to end man.

i dont think that imposing 5 last year means that we think we'll get 15 over 3 (or more).

last year we didnt know about all the BS and collusion that was going on over at the NCAA. the game is completely changed now. it is great that we already have a credit (so to speak) of 5 schollys

i still think that the TOTAL should be around 10 lost over 3 years. if the 5 self imposed is true, then that means we'd only have 5 more over 2 years

I wonder if a negotiation is what's holding things up? Maybe Um and their attorney's are trying to settle right now to avoid any kind of lawsuit or appeal.

IMHO, self-imposing does not offer a solution, but a benchmark for the NCAA to add more to what you're willing to do... The NCAA ALWAYS tack on more to show you who's boss.

Not this time! Miami will sue the **** out of them and win and they know it. With all the **** swirling around their incompetent asses they are going to tread lightly and it's eating them up because they wanted to drop the hammer.

While I have absolutely no knowlege of this, I would believe that, rather than a lawsuit, the NCAA would be worried about two other possibilities moreso, both from 'Hurricane Donna.'
Ms.S. has obvious political pull and acumen 'round Washington, and can you spell 'anti-trust'? In addition, I believe that she has enough power to approach her fellow Presidents/Chancellors to strongly take some action against to NCAA --- whatever that may be. Remember, the NCAA IS the Presidents and their institutions.
