The lack of playmaking depth at the Rb position was evident & horrid today. I love Clements and Crawfords stories and what they've done here but we need to get Gus ready for the ACC run. If not its going to eventually rear it's head!! Duke can't do it all.

Clements did great today in his opprotunites. Gus will get his touches in savannah state game, if they don't use him there I assume they will give him a redshirt which i wouldn't mind either

How could you expect a good running day from anyone? Our Oline was hot garbage.

Also, Clements would've had the longest run of the day if not for that bull**** holding call.

I second this motion.

Wish the NCAA hadn't butt****ed Gus out of half of fall camp, but we're still good.

Eduardo was about to run all over Florida before that bs holding call forced Coley to have to call throwing plays late in the 4th....

Regardless Eduardo and Crawford can run all over anyone on our schedule not named FSU and maybe VT..... lol so lets not act like our schedule is going to get tougher then the team we had to play today.

Redshirt gus. Unless a big injury comes we're fine without him this year. save a year of eligibility. Florida will be the toughest d we will play all year, Duke and Clements/Crawford will be more than enough vs acc opponents. We need to look to the future because a 5 yr senior Edwards would be a beast

EC so good he's referred to as two people :)... but for real, kid looked good in his limited touches. I won't compare him to the legend that is Duke. Just not fair.

Move Crawford to a slot receiver and get Gus ready. We need a big back to take some of the carries.

The problems with the running game have much more to do with the offensive line as opposed to any of the running backs. Hard for ANY running back to gain yards when they are getting hit by d-linemen and linebackers in the backfield.

If he develops to the level I think he might, and that we all hope, a redshirt year would be a waste, because it's unlikely he would be here all five years. I used to think redshirting was great, but that was decades ago. Often enough, you just lose a year if a kid is that good. This is a long season, RBs get beat up, and who's to say having a big physical running back down the stretch run would benefit us. Three smaller tailbacks might end up just one healthy one when all is said and done. Guys might get nicked. Having a fourth, and a big one at that, might make the difference come November.

He already played last year. Doesn't he blow the redshirt unless he takes an injury redshirt before the fourth game, or something like that? I guess they can find an injury, like a devastating hangnail, to justify the injury redshirt. Do I understand the rule correctly?

Clements is sufficient ....for now...lets keep grinding...I really would love to start
redshirting kids...building more depth for the long run...even the most highly
touted players...great teams redshirt...good players...

That play by Easley pretty much summed up our running game today - the play where he got to the handoff at the same time as Duke and nearly killed him.

We were manhandled upfront. Doesn't matter who you have back there in that situation.
