If you can’t recruit at a high level with the number of losses we have on dline and just on the defense in general then patke ain’t saving sh*t.... we need help on that side of the ball bad. 247 has Banda as the primary recruiter for Hall, Ivey, and Frierson. The only signee Rumph was the primary for? Blades, who was always coming here because he's Al Blades Jr.

Rumph's success or failure in this cycle was always dependent on where Campbell & Surtain sign. The jury's still out and we need to land at least one of them.

Brooklyn dee even said that rumph was integral in keeping frierson committed, on top of that he recruited all the cbs too. Give that man his credit like you all give banda

A few things:

1. I agree that keeping the staff as is and hiring Patke would be an atrocious move. It doesn't make sense on any level. In general, bringing in Patke to be a coach doesn't make sense.

2. We have tremendous issues with the actual coaching on offense. We also have issues with special teams. This doesn't mean the defense is perfect, nobody is suggesting that. It just means, in terms of priority, those are the areas we should fix first. This also doesn't mean recruiting doesn't need help but given this exact staff just landed a top 5 class, perhaps there are higher areas of concern.

3. Our staff today has strengths but there are numerous concerns. This was not a championship caliber staff:

- Jon Richt has a coaching position, even though no real program would hire him, this is one less coach we can employ. His son, like Patke, should be a quality assistant.
- You have two coaches coaching DBs, that isn't necessary.

So basically you have dead weight and that is before we add a coach. If it is Patke, or a defensive coach in general, there still is no one to help Richt coach his offense. In addition, why would anyone expect special teams to change much?

4. Given Coach Kul's track record at developing DL, the guy deserves the benefit of the doubt that he will be able to get the most out of what he has in front of him. This doesn't mean we shouldn't bring in great DL talent, it just means there are higher areas of concern.

I didnt realize Wash was part of the B12. Also Wash St. never can out recruit the big brother schools around them like Oregon, Univ Washington, USC, etc. Yet they where able to hold a lot of the offensive power houses to low offensive numbers when playing them. IF you think Patke is a better higher then Grinche your a ******* moron. Being able to pull a good DC And make him a Co-DC is a power move. You must be the troll or a ******* moron.

Having two of them is a huge advantage especially when you have 2 legit DCs and not just in name only. Schaino is talented enough to be a HC so having Schiano and Grinch all working on the Defensive end is a a force to be reckoned with especially since Meyer is more then capable of running the offense by himself plus he has a great OC.

Are you a moron? The pac 12 has great offenses and Wash st was able to hold a lot of those team to a low amount of points. You are clearly a blind homer. Schiano is one of the top DCs in the game and now he has a Co-DC. I explained it to you you are just to stupid to understand it. Having a second tested DC to work on play books, recruiting, etc. is much more likely to winning a natty then hiring some ******* grad assistant.

Alex Grinch actually is a very smart DC and utilizes speed VERY well... garbage defense?? Univ of Washington has a bad defense?? Lol seriously? Compare UW to us the last 2 years, who has had the better overall defense? I would love to have Jimmy Lake at The U I'll tell u that... that's no knock on us, I love the improvements on our defense but UW ain't bad either and Grinch did well with little talent
