U guys really need to get over it. We knew this was a rebuilding year and most had us winning 5 games total this season.

I say we are more than exceeding expectations. Get over it we lost to 2 top 5 teams. We can still win this Coastal for the first time ever. We are gonna need new blood it's going to take time but we are doing well. A win against UNC pretty much assures a Coastal Championship as VT has to play Clemson and FSU.

We are young and have zero talent in the upperclassmen. But what's FSU's excuse? We beat the team they just lost to. Don't know about you...but that makes me feel good about this team. Our only goal is to win this coastal. Give us a chance in the ACC title game. And if by some miracle we pull of an ACC Championship......well....wouldn't that be something?

Golden found players for this team. He will find Dline. He will. We will be better. But we are not down and out. **** we are in the drivers seat.

Once we got too far behind against KSU and ND you could see the young guys just wanted to go home. Unfortunate, but its what young guys do.

Obviously we have tons of problems but there's still a lot to look forward to THIS SEASON. Just gotta move on to UNC because nothing is changing between now and then.
 
I appreciate the positive tone of your thread, Zino. Are you accurately point out, we still have much to play for this season.

I do still remain concerned that we have the beef of our ACC schedule ahead. Seeing FSU lose to NC State gives me some hope as well. Gotta find a way to beat Va Tech.
 
I thought we would be 3-3 with a shot at 4-2. So were at the high end of what I thought coming into the season. I chalked up ND and K-state as losses. UNC is gonna be tough though. Easily the best offense we've faced so far this year. I can imagine Benard just gutting us and keeping our offense off the field for long stretches.

True, but is down right scary how bad we are on D. Worst Miami D I have ever seen. There is not one consistent playmaker on that side of the ball
 
I expected us to be 2-4 at this point in the season but I just hate ND sooooooo bad I was just day dreaming we could find a way to beat them. At least NCST that we beat took down FSU last night made me smile. All the Noes are over on their board calling Jimbo Fisher out as a bad coach that will never win the big game. At least watching Noles cry about NCST helps make forget ND a little.

Yup but its the same defense we had against GT and NCST.

Obviously UNC and VT present different challenges but at the same time, all these teams have been so wildly inconsistent that it's really tough to try to gauge these games on the past.

We are going to need to score a ton of points against both teams to win, just like GT and NCST. We probably need a break to two to go our way as well.
 
This is Golden's 2nd season and we are fighting and looking to win the ACC Coastal FOR THE FIRST TIME......EVER........EVER


4-2 was the high end of anybody's prediction thru the first 6 games of this season. 4-2 thru the last 6 would make us 8-4.

I'm predicting 9-3 which would be cause for celebrating.

Beat UNC and the Coastal is locked.......unless we find a way to lose to Duke Lulz.


ACC title game is a major accomplishment for this team this year. We were picked 4th...in the ACC Coastal. Not the ACc......the ACC Coastal

This team was picked #5 in the Coastal, they were picked to go 1-7 by Phil Steele, they put Botts and Wieclaw on the preseason All-ACC teams, and not regular players. Just because some of you thought we'd be 10-2 and winning every game 56-0, doesn't make reality any different. We're 3-0 in the ACC, and already have almost as many wins as we did all of last year overall, and have already matched our ACC win total of last year. I know we shouldn't be this bad on defense, and I know no one, including myself, didn't expect it to be this bad, but when all is said and done we are 4-2, 3-0 with losses to the #6 and 7 teams in the nation on the road. Again, not happy, but not going to act like we're 0-6 with 19 seniors starting.
 
I'd more concerned if the ACC Coastal were better than a MAC division this year.

It's worse.

I'm not the least bit shocked about the two losses. I had this team at 8-4 prior to this season. It's infuriating watching this defense, but we don't face another talented team except for FSU. If the team improves, specifically the receivers becoming more consistent and the D showing any improvement at all, we'll walk through UVA, VT, and USF. UNC would be 50/50 if we didn't improve at all. FSU could be rough in the mold of ND and KSU.

So, we could easily wind up 8-4 anyway. It'll he deceiving, because we won't be a team of that quality. But you play the teams in front of you, and we're **** lucky in the department this season.

I'm I happy about yesterday? Heck no, but this post speaks for me!!! I said to my kids after the Dorsett td drop, game over. Let's see how the rest of the year plays out. Did VT win yesterday? what about Clempson?

An 8-4 season is within grasp, with 34 fr. so. in 2 deep.

Unreals.

I thought we'd lose to ND. Was pleased at first half because the crap is correctable. Drops and a baaaaad call was a 14 point swing. The kids came to play, save Dorrsett. UM showed up ready to fight and did their best for a half. Al has us headed in the right direction, as opposed to standing around the heaters wearing neck socks.

Where is the evidence that suggests we have a good enough team to win our division?
 
Optimistic. It's like Billy Pilgrim picking through the rubble of Dresden to find an unbroken porceline doll. Where we are, is where I'd thought we'd be after 6 games. Unfortunately, I have us losing the next two of three through the heart of the lineup. I figured NC/UVa for a split either way, loss to FSU because they seem further along. I also realize and fully expect that team to implode a couple of times a year like it did yesterday. They do it every year. Maybe they isht the bed against us. And VT is a loss. I'll believe we'll beat VT when I see it. I shudder to think what that TE masquerading around as a QB will do to our D. Anyway, we haven't beaten them since Reagan was Prez, least it feels that way. If we win the coastal, thats great. Hadn't thought we'd do that. I'll take it.

We WILL NOT win the coastal with the worst defense in college football. Can u not see that? Luck can only get u so far. We are lucky to be 4-2. We could have easily lost to three more games. How many games do you expect us to score 40 in out of the games against FSU, VT and UNC? How do u win the coastal if we go 0-3 in those games?

We give up 500 yards a game and nearly 40 a game! I appreciate the optimism, but this thread is incredibly short sighted.
 
before the season I was thinking 5 or 6 wins, most likely 6. now I am thinking 6 or 7 wins, most likely 7. But 6 is all that really matters so we can take our bowl ban again, the rest is just enjoying the few wins here and there.
