I've given up hope for the Pirates doing it before I die but the mere fact that it's not a crazy thought under Jimmy Larranaga is effing awesome and ALL due to that dude not buckling when a lot of us were starting to doubt him. Love that guy.

The curse of the geography of birth. The fact that the only other MLB team that I've ever supported was/is the Marlins makes it extra rich but at least they gave us the magic of the '03 season (I wasn't here in '97).

That said, I only count titles in this context as ones won by your ride-or-die type teams- not ones like that you'll support because you live somewhere else or something and only when they're not playing your actual primary team. So I don't really have a World Series win under my belt.

Over the last twenty years the football program has been mediocre at best however the basketball team has been fun and exciting especially over the last 15 years or so. Coach L is without a doubt one of the best hires UM has ever made. This years team has a chance to make another deep run. If you’re not paying attention now, start. This team is good and fun to watch.

Mind your business. I’ll post what I want. I didn’t troll or break any rules. He called Miami a basketball school which isn’t true. Our current success reflects great coaching. Just like our current failures reflects poor.

Notwithstanding this backhanded thread itself, I actually don’t have an issue with what you posted initially in that context. However imperfect Maude’s are, there are other, more productive and helpful ways for you to deal with this situation than the way you did here with this response.

Regardless, and generally, you won’t post whatever you want as you just told that Maude and remain. This is not a place of unrestricted free speech.

You also won’t tell Maude’s what our business here is as you did and remain. Our business here is what we decide it is to keep this place going as we see appropriate.

As for those few individuals here going down the unhelpful path, I’m not going to continue watching them mouth off to volunteers trying to keep this place somewhat manageable in a sea of trolls, psychotics and ********. There will be recourse.
 
Think of where he would be without the crap from the NCAA. That was a setback.

That MD loss was a fluke. Those guys hit every shot no matter where they were on the floor. They were in one of those zones that no matter what anyone would do against them that day, they would not be beat.
 
Would love to see Hurricanes court Mr. Miami as a possible replacement for coach L when he decides to hang it up. Even though he's a gator, Udonis would be my choice to replace him.
 
I love watching the basketball team. They play a fun and exciting style and frankly, they win a lot. The only thing that sucks is I could never make it down for a weeknight game before halftime.

I’m not going to have another grown man chastise me publicly for posting on topic & within the rules just bc he doesn’t like the content. It is none of his business.

Is he trolling? Is he attacking poRsters? Is he derailing? If the answers are no, just keep on scrolling.

I didn’t mouth off. I spoke how I felt without disrespecting anyone. I will post what I want. If it warrants a ban, (breaks rules) then so be it. I’m a man.

The NCAA and later the FBI crap a few years later was no excuse for losing games. At least this is what the local CIS John Woodens told us on several occasions. Plus, he was getting old...time to replace him, they said....that and threads discussing his successor didn't age well.

Does he have any coaching experience? What is his record?

And to think, some of our fans..... rightchea on this board was giving him **** just over a year ago, before we made the run to and thru the NCAA tournament. Love watching his teams play.

Right or wrong in determinations, moderating threads, consisting of posts made by posters, is exactly a Maude’s job and therefore a Maude’s business. We will continue to do that, imperfectly as we all are.

Now that said, as far as this thread goes, as I stated, I don’t have an issue with what you posted within this thread’s context. The issue is that the context of this thread’s OP is the problem which was not identified for what it is and clipped up front.

I think this thread is a backhanded effort to stir up **** against the football program, under the guise of praising the basketball team’s success, and some of the usual mopes and trolls jumped in as participants on the negative aspects. It was started on the football board not the basketball board because, in my opinion, the OP poster wasn’t coming from a purely basketball place in his heart, if that makes sense. It has a dual purpose and it was inevitable what the resulting responses would be.

This thread should have been identified accordingly and clipped or merged into the Basura Bin thread where the other 50 Mario and whoever else sucks threads now co-exist as one fecal literary nation.

I am locking this thread and if someone wants to start a new thread praising the basketball team and coach on the basketball board in the respectful way they deserve, without taking away from their moment, as was done here, that would certainly be welcome.
