Watching the Senior Bowl...

I wish Mike James tremendous success and fortune in whatever he does in life. I am super fond of that dude. He never did anything but bring tremendous honor to my alma mater.

A winner. A warrior. A real Cane.

MJ is a guy who really deserved to play in the mid-to-late 80's because he loved being a Hurricane and what that meant and what it entailed. Not "NFL U" or phony 'swagger'. Guys like him are the heart and soul of any successful program

And some of the most impressive players are a rush end from UConn, a guard from Kentucky and a safety from FIU. The Ansah kid, who is a likely first rounder, didn't play the sport until 2010. Can we all agree that reported offers and star ratings are not as important as coaching evals yet?

Rankings are a joke. Why anyone would listen to a bunch of failed mailmen who admit to cooking the books is beyond me, but I guess there is a sucker born every minute.

Your still going to do better landing 4 and 5 stars than 2 and 3s

The success rate is higher on the highly rated kids.

That doesnt mean not to sign 2s and 3s, but highly rated classes are a good sign

here's how I look at it. If you sign one a highly touted Big Star class then it' gonna be a crapshoot how it works out. But if you consistently sign highly ranked big star guys year after year, you are bound to accumulate talent. Now the key is getting classes full of guys that want to work hard so that means getting your three or even two star work their *** off type that will push the other guys so they don't get lazy and complacent like our 08 class. You consistently bring in talent and get em to work hard, you are bound for success. but one without the other isn't gonna work

as a tool for what?
coaching evals at what level? college evals of high school kids? pro coach evals of college kids?

Sat next to him for an entire semester his freshman year, we only hung out a few times but literally every time I saw him afterwards for 3 years he'd always go out of his way to stop, say hello and ask how everything was going. Just a genuinely nice guy. It was an 8 am, 3 day a week class, and he literally didn't show up late once. We started the semester with like 5 other players in it and they all dropped, except for Mike who stuck with it. Hopefully he has a long, successful career in the NFL, he deserves it.
