Watching tj yeldon run and then went and watched gus edwards senior highlight tape...they are very similar in running style...both are bout 6`2 230 with 4.5 speed...yeldon was a little highy recruited but i have a strong feeling gus is gonna surprise alotta people with his footwork, power n speed... What a 1-2 punch gus and duke can be if gus can produce like yeldon did last year...

Smh. Yeldon was a top 20 player in America and is going to be a 1st round pick in 2 years I just hope Gus can be a Q Hill type for us.

So u sayn cuz gus wasnt a top 20 player or top ranked back that he CANT pruduce like yeldon? No, its not expected of him but you and i kno all that ranking bull**** is a hit n miss business...i see similarities regardless of rankings...like i said he will surprise alotta people if not this year but his career at the U barring injury

Gus Edwards doesnt seem as fast as Yeldon and not close either

This. Tj yeldon is a freak and is consistently running 4.42-4.5 40's. For his size and strength that is impressive. I'm excited about gus too but let's not get carried away people

Also watching this game. Both DL are replicates size and speed wise of 2000 to 2003 miami.. We get a couple more jucos and impact guys like Moten and Valentine and will be playing in the title game in 2 to 3 years. The offense will be loaded the next couple years.

I just watched Gus Edwards Highlights, and he constantly got angled off by High school DBs. Yeldon was turning the corner vs SEC defenses

...yea he turned the corner but still got caught...yeldon has one of the best feet in college but he is not running in the 4.4s...look at his highlights again and tell me how many times hel pulled away from defenders or had 40-50+ touchdown runs...they are similar trust me, yeldons feet are jus elite while gus is a lil above average 4 a big back

So getting caught by highschool DBs, NY highschool DBs none the less, is the same as getting caught by SEC DBs?

Honestly I'm a lot more excited about Edwards than most, but the Yeldon comparison is ridiculous. I could see a poor man's Yeldon because of some similarities in running style. But Yeldon is more explosive and sudden.

With that said, I do think Edwards can be a better RB at UM than Mike James when it's all said and done. Not this coming season (though I would not be at all surprised to see him surpass a couple guys and work his way into the mix), but career production wise. Edwards runs like a RB with size but still has solid explosiveness and good feet. He was a **** good pickup IMO

Yeldon isa special player, but......

Just because Gus Edwards wasn't a top 20 player out of HS doesn't mean he can't be a good/great player.
Granted I don't think Edwards will be a Heisman trophy candidate going into his sophomore season, I firmly believe he can be a very good back here...and yes I think he can be a better player than Q Hill.

what you need to do, is find a life for yourself

This balla is spot on.

Soooooooo...TJ Yeldon is a freak now? LOL! Man where is Franshise when I need him..Some people will take any chance to suck off anything that walks upright in the SEC. Smh. That dude is a good back that has ANOTHER good back to supplment him. And next year he will have ANOTHER good back to supplement him. (Sony) Will he go in the first round? Yeah probably. But he is not a freak of nature. Yeezus people.

And to the OP, I get your point. But no he is not TJ Yeldon. And not because TJ was a top player in the country either. But he can be better then Q Hill. (Which isnt saying much really. I love Q too but lets not make it seem like buddy was Cleveland Gary or sumthin.) Any other year Gus would redshirt. Lets just hope EC will be back to normal and he can be the one to spell Duke.
