Quincy Casimir. He's at Miami now on the practice squad and will be on the team officially in January. He graduated Norland in 2011 and was one of the best defensive backs in Dade County his junior and senior years. Didn't get top D1 looks because of his size, so he went to Fairmont State, redshirted his first season, and then had a great RS FR year. Transferred to Miami this year as a non-scholarship player but I've been hearing a lot of good things about him. With the thin safety depth chart next season, there's a chance he sees the field.

Here are his Fairmont State highlights

And here are some clips from back in high school

No offense, but im sick of the hidden gems and this staff. They need 5 stars everywhere to make up their shortcomings in coaching

He's a non-scholarship player right now. Worst-case is that he turns out to be a special teams player. There is no risk here and he has Dade County ties. A lot of recruits I've talked to are close to him.

Thanks Pete. I see your points. I was buying into their talent evaluation before. After numerous reaches like jake odonnell, thurston, corey king, etc im just over it. I hope the kid does well though regardless

Thanks for the scoop, Pete, but if all this kid could get was Fairmont State, then there were more questions about him than size.

I wouldn't really call this a "scoop" to be honest. He's been on the practice squad all year, but I've recently heard that he's making noise. Just wanted to bring the name up now so that when it's announced that a new player is added to the roster in a few months, people won't be freaking out asking who he is and where he came from. More of an informative post than anything.

This kid ever gets on the field it´ll be another great excuse for D-No to suck. "We´re playing ******* walk ons!"

Cool. Another thread where a defensive player can't be discussed without criticizing the coaching staff and scheme.

Good looking out Pete.

If this kid ever gets meaningful snaps on the field then Golden and co. has failed at recruiting another position. Safety is looking real thin next year.
