Here is Miami's record vs. ACC opponents since joining the ACC in 2004 (overall record against these teams in parenthesis). I included Maryland, who is leaving, but not Louisville who is joining next year, nor Pitt or Syracuse since we have not played them yet as ACC members. I put our 2 biggest rivals in bold. That's pathetic. Also, take out Duke and Wake Forest, who we are a combined 13-1 against, and I don't even want to know what our ACC record is. Here's a hint, it's not pretty.

vs.

Boston College 2-2 (24-5)
Clemson 2-2 (6-3)
Duke 8-1 (9-2)
Florida State 3-7 (31-27)
Georgia Tech 6-4 (9-10)
Maryland 1-2 (8-9)
UNC 5-5 (8-9)
NC State 2-2 (8-5-1)
Virginia 5-5 (6-5)
Virginia Tech 3-7 (18-13)
Wake Forest 5-0 (8-3)

New Teams

Louisville 9-1-1
Pitt 22-9-1
Syracuse 15-7

welp!, gives true meaning to the....."we may be in your league but you're not in ours!" tshirts. Still one of the greatest ever, just wish we could have backed it up.

I found gridge and jumped. But screwed it up. Fell on Mark. He was roaming around turning over stones looking for new plays for the Pitt game. At least is was a pillow fluff landing.

Not trying to be a dlck, but what is the goal of these posts?

I think everyone knows we haven't done squat since 2003. I think everyone knows we have been in the dumps for some time.

Personally, I think we are on a positive path, there are speed bumps and impediments along the way, we will see the direction it takes in the not too distant future, and more than that posters need to lighten up.

I am not going to speak for posters, people will think/believe what they want and they are fully entitled to those opinions.

IMO, there were 3 speed bumps, all were self imposed and there is one current one still imposed.

1. UM hiring some bad coaches and what followed

2. UM's Involvement in the NS stuff and what followed

3. (Current) Al's beliefs in the defense

The 3 reason above explain the underachieving numbers in the OP IMO.

4. Our QB is not that good

That would fit under #1 (i.e. we hired the coach, he recruited the players, those players are playing).

At the end of the day, which is coming closer we will find out what Al is made of. There are tough decisions, but need to be made and the question really is if he has the foresight, vision and the balls. Assuming he will or won't dig in on those issues at this point is foolish. I believe his focus is on the game Friday.

My point being, how posters are so sure its going to be the same old same old. Face it Al may or may not be the real deal, everyone has an opinion that should be respected although the intensity and frequency of many threads wind up ending with the same debate which is old and stale. Al is we got, he is going to be running the ship for a while and IMO has done a lot of good things and some not so good. Can he improve?
