wanna know a reason our defense hasnt been up to par

You better be careful, some posters are so dense that unless you blame every ill of the earth on Dorito, according to them you aren't a true fan.
 
the bend but dont break defensive scheme keeps them on the field for endless drives as well

That theory would make more sense if teams didn't march down the field and score on our defense before most fans even get to their seats.
 
Lets just be honest. There isn't a bunch of talent on that side of the ball. Defense is slow across the board. Most explosive players are freshman. I also believe Coach D could have tailored his defense to fit his talent better then he did. Bottom line is defense stinks from top to bottom and it has to be fixed.

Because our head coach has guys bulk up and they then lose their explosiveness. Mind blowing stupidity.

The defensive scheme keeps the defense on the field not the other way around.
If we had a defense with a pulse we wouldn't have to run hurry up (ala Jedd Fisch years).

We have an awful defensive scheme/coordinator and anything to the contrary is just a weak attempt to cover that up (or making excuses for it).

How about this... we have arguably the best punter in the country & the defense still couldn't use that momentum & field position.

Bulked up LBs = less speed. Bulked up DL = less explosive moves. I'd rather have smaller, quicker guys than big, slow ones.

Mickey Andrews always preached speed. FSU defenses in the 90's were dominant. That's what we should be aiming for. This isn't the Big 10. Golden has the wrong idea.

I dont even think mark donofrio would agree with the OP. Here's a link to an article that Peter Ariz wrote back in August of this year. IIRC there was video of this interview but I couldnt find it. Coach dorito opens claims to be all about scoring defense, not total defense. His whole approach is counter to the excuse laid out in the OP.

Oh BTW - Canes were last in total defense in the ACC this year.

Funny because Randy's offenses were far worse than our current offense and our defenses actually played more because of the offense, and our defense still did ok.

Come on, this is horse ****.

Our offense is top 5. You can't pin this on them.

The reason we suck at time of possession is because we can't get off the ******* field. It's because we suck on 3rd down defense.

God I hope Al Golden isn't as dense as you. If so, we're in real trouble.

We have serious issues on the defense that need fixing. I hope to god that Al Golden realizes this and we're doing ******* something to improve.

Yeah, the offense is the problem with the defense. Me thinks the DEFENSE is the problem with the defense.

Defense = 123 more plays on the field. **** that's almost 2 additional games when compared with the almost 64 offensive plays Miami averaged during the year.

Net yards between Total O & Total D = 373 yards.
Not that the net yards between the offense and defense means anything. It just shows to me that despite winning 9 games, it doesn't truly show a team that was dominate or even controlling. At least in my opinion. I expected to see a wider gap between the total O and total D numbers.

Yes, please kind sir....I would like to know a reason our defense hasn't been up to par.
 
Actually, it's just the opposite. Our offense would be much better if we had a decent defense. The offense is always pinned back deep in its own territory because the ****** *** defense always lets teams march down the field on us. The defense never creates s short field for the O. Face it, D'onofrio is a Division III coordinator at best.
