Walter Nolen A&M

Weeks go by and our win over them gets more impressive. But guess what, we wont get credit for it. Pundits will say they would beat us if we play now. Our OL could win the Joe Moore award. Every team who has won it has won atleast 10 games, except 1, Iowa in like 2016 . They won 8 as they have a an offense from 1950
I also think the Miami of Ohio win is being downplayed nationally. That was a quality win.

I hate that if we play them now talk or if we fight now talk. Like bruh when the game happened, what happened happened you can’t change it lol.

aTm has significantly more talent stacked across their DL but not sure they play like it. Tough call
Their DL is playing well now. They're near the top as far as sacks and TFL. Miami's OL play has been very consistent. The sack on TVD in the A&M game came when Lee slipped down, otherwise, that's a TD throw to Restrepo.

This guy didn’t do **** against Miami

I believe he saved a TD pass to X when he got pressure up the middle and forced TVD to scramble to left. I think Shemar ended up getting credited with a sack on that play when he forced TVD out of bounds

but not much other than that. Though he was stout against the run

We were the best OL they've seen thus far, and likely will see, but lets not get completely carried away.

Individual stats are tricky with DT especially if you're only looking at one game.

We didn't completely dominate them on the LOS; They were very stout against the run. He was very strong along the interior (@Lance Roffers has the film breakdown).

We took advantage of their lacking edge pressure and relatively weaker personnel at DB, which resulted in quite a few chunk plays.

As a result, we only ran 54 plays @ 8.4 yards/play versus their 82 plays @ 5.3 yards/play.

When your opponent isn't running the ball, and is chewing you up throwing, it doesn't lend itself to eye-popping stats from your DT.

It also wasn't close, Miami kicked their asses
Facts it was not close even with the score final. I think most people would agree if you saw the score first you would think AM. But this ain’t that new Miami Donna preached this the old Miami reincarnated

Were we double teaming him? I recall seeing a few plays when it seemed that we did.

Anyway, he did impress me that game. I liked what I saw. Tremendous potential.

We pushed their **** in all game.

It was glorious.

The national narrative won't let our fanbase or anyone else believe it though.
I'm kind of glad we aren't getting all the hype the other teams like CU, fsu, Texas, etc., are getting. Stay humble, grind, & show it on game day.

We don't need the U getting hyped up yet.

A&M defensive coordinator had a come to Jesus moment after the pathetic pass rush from A&M d-line against Miami. In the 3 games after Miami, A&M defense blitzes on 66% of plays now compared to blitzing on less than 33% of plays. Of A&M's (6) 5-star defensive lineman on roster, none are true edge rushers and only #5 JR Shemar Turner has the skill set to rush off the edge despite having an interior DT body size/frame. All (6) 5-star DL on A&M's roster would be classified as DT's in a 4 down front or would be classified as either DT/Strong-DE in a 3-4 scheme. All 6 are hybrid DT/strong side DE's.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Shemar Turner, JR 5-star, all purpose DL, is the best player on A&M's roster and reminds me of a more physical/less burst version of Myles Garrett.
Evan Stewart, SO 5-star, WR, is the 2nd best player on A&M's roster.
Walter Nolan, SO 5-star, interior DL, has emerged into the 3rd best player on A&M's roster.
----------------------------------------------------------------
McKinnley Jackson, SR 4-star, interior DL, is very good with 3 years starting experience & a super motor
Fadill Diggs, SR 4-star, edge rusher, is very good with 3 years starting experience & lots of career sacks
----------------------------------------------------------------
LT Overton, SO 5-star DL
Shemar Stewart, SO 5-star DL
Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy, SO 5-star DL
DJ Hicks, FR 5-star DL
Dominick McKinley, 2024 commit 5-star DL
----------------------------------------------------------------
Miami & A&M will meet again in the playoffs, you heard it here first.
