Is it just me, or is every outgoing player from last year's defense a walking corpse?

The athleticism just wasn't presnt when you had Green, Gaines, Cornelius, Highsmith, Renfrow in the starting lineup.

The difference we're going to see in 2014 will be astounding.

Can noDforU develop players? I think 70% is on the talent, 30% is on coaching… maybe we didn't have talent?

lets move forward..

That's what I'm trying to do neal. For the most part, the guys replacing the outgoing walking corpses are far more athletic and were more heavily recruited.

S. Green - McCord
C. Porter - Wyche
J. Renfrow - Heurtelou
L. Robinson - Moten
D. Perry - Thomas
D. Gilbert - AQM
J. Gaines - Kirby
T. Cornelius - Grace
K. Cain - Owens
A. Highsmith - Carter
K. Rodgers - Dallas

Up and down that list, with the exception of Heurtelou and depending on the TOS Wyche, we are replacing every one of these unathletic 2/3* busts with 4 or 5* studs from mostly south FL, GA and CA. Talent over shadows coaching due to the talent gap in college vs. NFL but good ol coach No D will try his hardest to squash that long held thought.

Apocraphyl recruiting job by Radio. Just an embarrassment really.

I really don't know what to expect as far as talent and our DC goes, but even the staunchest pessimist or Golden hater would have to admit that this will be the most pure talent on defense in a long time. Golden has his recruiting flaws for sure, but has done a better job recruiting defense IMO. DT has been a problem for some time and it's inexcusable how he has recruited the position, but aside from that, he has brought in real talent in the secondary and on the edges. Difference makers.

Last year's seniors (and Perry) who are gone were holding the line. The difference in talent is remarkable. We have the athleticism back, but can they deliver come game time? Coaches no longer have any excuse.

Coaching matters ask TCUs of the world

Give me studs but give me a coach worth a **** to put them in a position to succeed and hide what ever weaknesses they have cause you know they get paid good to sit around and scheme

Forgot to add in Hester, Gayot is impressing very early. Demetrius, and Harris. I don't think Jenkins , McCray and Smith will play right away but they are definitely all upgrades.

But it is some serious upgrades this year. Hopefully the difference in talent & ability and athleticism show off and pay off big time. I'm very optimistic it can.

Our back 7 and our DE's are legit again.

DE:
Chickillo
Kamalu
McCord
Muhammad
Chad
Demetrius
Harris
Smith

*Not including Hoilett, think he gets passed up.

LB:
Perryman
Kirby
Figs
Grace
Owens
Young
McCray
Blue (Holding some hope out on him.)

CB:
Howard
Gunter
Burns
Elder
Dortch
A. Crawford
Mayes
Lewis

S:
Bush
Jenkins
D. Crawford
Carter
Hester
Gayot

If the DTs develop and the jucos give us solid play. Could be looking at quite a turnaround on this defense. Not even asking for star play at DT. Just solid play would help, not the play we have seen from that position the last few years.

would not surprise me if two of the three dts stay in the league for a few years in another system; rotational guys. Also would not surprise if TC made it as a special teams kind of guy. The others I believe will be coaching someone elses kids sooner than later.

So I take it you like Coach No D and I am being called stupid...That makes no sense I mean after all its not like No D has fielded two of the worst D's in Cane history...oh wait.

I hate to pile on but that makes 10 guys who were on the 2 deep on defense that, let's be honest, should not have been there in the first place.

That's tough for a D.

The 2010 defense was no brick wall but there were a lot more athletes on that defense and you saw much better rankings compared to the last two years.
