Waldord is considering to turn pro. Apparently he will make his decision immediately after the bowl game. Don't think it's a great idea by him. He is probably a 6 or 7th round pick at this point. Story is in the herald.

After Golden spoke, 6-4, 259-pound junior Walford said he will decide on bowl night whether to turn pro a year early.

Walford is the father of a nearly 5-month-old son, but he did not say whether that will affect his decision-making.

Walford played in all 12 games this season, starting 11. He has 30 catches for 372 yards and two touchdowns.

His career numbers: 36 games, 24 starts and 73 catches for 995 yards (13.6-yard-per-catch average).

His potential reason for staying: “I could better my craft, learn more football because this is actually my fourth year playing football. There’s still a lot I need to learn. … If I stayed on the team I could be a major leader for the squad.”

He would not reveal which way he was leaning. He said he has not gotten back his evaluation from the NFL Draft Advisory Board. Underclassmen must declare to the NFL by Jan. 15.

Said Walford: “It definitely won’t go down to the wire. I’ll make my decision directly after the game, whether I’m going to go or whether I’m going to come back. That night.’’

Junior defensive end Anthony Chickillo said he has not gotten his evaluation back from the NFL Draft Advisory Board The other junior deciding whether to leave early is linebacker Denzel Perryman

I love Walford......but him leaving early would BE A VERY VERY DUMB MOVE

It would be a huge mistake if he left early. At this point, he's a late round pick. A good senior year, and he could probably rise a couple rounds such as the 4th.

Horrible a move for him.... If he has his degree I could understand

If not getting just a couple years then hitting the power slide that is real life will be tough

I know there is nothing wrong with kids hearing where they stand

I just think we deal with more 6-7th round picks and udfa wanting to leave than any other team

Not that surprising to me what can Clive do to improve his draft stock he isnt gonna get any faster and his hands haven't improved the last 3 years no reason to think they will get better next year. He has to do what is best with him and his family and I could understand why he would decide to leave early already has his degree and has to take care of his new born can't be mad at him.

these kids will never figure out its cheaper to buy condoms than raising a baby.smh

Tommy Streeter, Brandon Washington, Marcus Forston.

Dont make that same mistake, Clive.

Forston was gone no matter what, he already had his degree. And to be honest, I'm not sure another year would've helped him that much. Dude could not stay healthy.

Streeter and BWash definitely made mistakes. Morris to Streeter would've been deadly.

Choose wisely. The risk of injury sometimes is just not worth it (Graig Cooper - he never was the same after his injury). But ending up like Tommy Streeter is not worth it either.

Anyone know the difference between fourth and sixth round pay? Just asking...

Did Clive get/apply for one of those Advisory board draft evaluations like Chick or is he deciding without the benefit of that? I don't remember his name coming up when people were talking about players turning pro. At any rate, good luck to him. I like Clive. He turned himself into a decent TE. Wish to **** they would have gone to him more, but that's another story. For selfish reasons I'd like for him to come back, but hopefully he gets good feedback on his prospects for the next level and makes an informed decision.

My guess is it depends on his performance in the game. I think he is foolish for leaving as he had a few bad games in a row with the bobbles and drops. I also think the new QB will use the TE a lot more than the current one.

As it stands, I think he will be a 5th-6th round pick unless he runs under a 4.7 (which he won't touch).

Hopefully all three make smart decisions by staying for their senior year. There is pretty much only upside for them $$$$.
