We really don't. With our hitting and pitching we need infielders who can make routine plays regularly. We don't need to be extra, just sound.

Virginia probably took 3-4 hits from Zamora alone with great defense. He's had solid contact even if the hits havent been there recently

Yeah all hitters go through this. Key is to try and limit it or do other things just to get on base. For example drop down a bunt just to get on base. All mental.

The not being able to field balls has bothered me for years. The teams that beat us rarely have errors. If he's our best choice then fine, but he's not very good defensively at an important position.

That’s what I’m saying we recruit one for next year. We’ve had true freshman SS like Zamora last year.
If we’re going to challenge next year our defense needs to be corrected. All starts with the SS.
