Virginia Tech Recruiting

I think it just goes to show how difficult a job it is to run a college programme. Fuente hasn't attacked recruiting with vigour and now look where they are.

They won't but I'll let you think that.... their admissions won't let it happen...
Stanford consistently recruits in the Top 25 and their backyard isn't nearly as fertile as Atlanta. ND consistently recruits in the Top 25.

Y'all put too much stock in that. This is a business. If a player is a good student, GT will make it happen. GT had a couple top recruiting classes before Paul Johnson and HS football is even bigger in Georgia now than it was in the 2000's.

North carolina will be our biggest problem the next 3-5 years

They have a solid class going but we’ll see if Mack can keep that going after this year. He may lose the team right away if SC and us take care of them week 1 and week 2. They also have Clemson this year, that game will be fun for them.

Stanford had Harbaugh and now David Shaw..huge reason why they are even competitive.

GT didn't have any top rated classes even when they had Joe Hamilton the didn't gave top classes. Not with O Leary or Gailey or PJ...but hey I'll let you think what you want.

Standford is competitive bc they have a good coach and they recruit well. And like I said, ND recruits well. Miami recruits well. Plenty colleges with high academic standards recruit well. I'll let u think that GT academics is going to keep them from recruiting well.

VT had a great class for them last year, 26th and 3rd in the ACC. They still have talent to give us trouble for a couple of years, but I don't think Fuente is the answer for them. UNC, Virginia are our biggest challenge now and GT in a couple of years could be a challenge once they flip their roster to a normal offense.

Garbage program.
Garbage coach.
They're only going to get worse. There's still a handful of upperclassmen there with talent but they've done nothing recruiting wise, to replace them. Enjoy irrelevance.

Sucks to be you.

GT will be our future biggest threat in the Coastal. Not sold on UNC, idc how well they recruit and even if they do recruit well GT still has a higher recruiting ceiling
I think Georgia Tech moving to a traditional offense has removed their one advantage

And VT did this just last year...
For the second time in two years, Virginia Tech beefed up Fuente’s contract, extending the deal by another year through 2024 and bumping his compensation to $4 million in 2018 and '19 when factoring in base pay and retention bonuses.

🤣🤣🤣
