Thomas is bad.

And they lost most of their top pass catchers from last season.

Gonna be a long year on offense for the Turkey.

No matter how trash vt looks during the season they always give us **** problems. Besides last yr they been in our ***. Yea logan thomas looks bad but thats still the same guy who went like 22-25 against us a couple of years ago and looked **** good doing it. I still say tha we beat them this year, but they are a rival for a reason.....most annoying rival we have.

That's a good defense with a strong front 7. Thomas is a stiff but he will settle into that offense enough to become somewhat presentable as a human being instead of parading around like a giant mindless oaf. Our game will be a war.
 
We will beat them because they are not a physically impressive team. The first time they tried to tackle TJ Yeldon their safety got a concussion. They are not physical enough. They got their asses kicked all night on special teams.

An Al Golden team will not lose to a team like this.

- VT's defense is for real. They are nasty up front. They absolutely obliterated Bama's oline. Bama couldn't run for sht and they were in McCarron's face all night.
- Logan Thomas sucks
- Their special teams were an abomination, but let's be real, they're not going to give up 2 return tds every game. It's just not something you can count on. So if that doesn't happen, this game is a lot closer.
- Bottomline: it's the same VT team as always. Very good defense. ******, plodding offense that relies on power running and tries to hit it over the top on play action every once in a while. We'll need to shut down their run and force thomas to throw on third and long.

This is basically what I saw. I saw a smallish defense that played upfield. They bothered the **** out of Bama's OLine yesterday. We'll see how they do as the season goes on.

*It's basically the same defense as last year (minus two starters), which was a top 20 defense, but played pretty small dudes (one of which is a badass DE) along the front.

Knowles should never play a down of football again. He probably dropped about 8 balls. He was beyond awful and made Thomas stats looks about 10 times worse than they were.
 
They pushed Bama around BUT Bama lost three of their best OL. Not worried about them as long as we can stop Thomas.....from running.

We have yet to prove that we can be productive against teams that can handle our front and they look like they can do that so it'll be interesting. Fortunately it looks for all the world like we can commit a lot of guys up front due to their passing game. They should struggle to score against most anyone with athletes.
 
Can everyone now put a rest to 'Beamer Ball'? Vatech special teams haven't been all that good the past few years, in fact, they have been a liability

That VT defense is pretty good... Let's not overreact after one game... We showed improvement but lets not get carried away... Even with UF... They didn't blow out Toledo but they pretty much dominated them... No turnovers or detrimental errors... Toledo had one of the nation's top offenses... They held a 1500 back to 50 yards... Thats says a lot... UF is what they are a ground and pound game... I'm a bit skeptical of our defensive secondary's speed... I like our improvements but we're getting overly critical of every other program when we probably played the weakest opponent...

Looks like he spent the offseason at the sports book at the Atlantis betting on Bama in that one.
