I like what we were in on Saturday in hindsight, I just remember having a lot of busts in contain on Klubnik that hurt my soul. It definitely fits our personnel better, we’re so thin on the line that playing 3 down with Flagg as the walked up overhang was a great adjustment. I hope we stay in it and work out the kinks. Just wish we had a true nose tackle for 1st and 2nd down.

Didn’t Canesinsight do a podcast with a fan who’s an X’s and O’s specialist where he specifically said he doesn’t like the 3-3-5? Judging by this game it seems like LT, Flagg, Bain and JHH are better fits for that then a 4-2-5.

So Miami just switched up defenses and dominated Clemson at the line... not sure I have ever seen such a quick and successful. switch of a d scheme like this within one week. Seems like in the past these kids struggled learning any new concept.

Highlighting LTs production Guidry said it was due to Taylor playing a position that highlights his strengths. “We had him at the nose and we played him over the center and made him knock him back and then moved him right or left from that spot. It was a good game plan for him and it played to his strengths.”

Re Hunte, “he did great. He is probably more of a three-technique or a four-technique anyway, so to get him further out from the guard, the better he is. It fit really well with what we did. He and Rueben are guys that can do a little bit of both.”

Looks like this might be a thing going forward.

Hopefully Miami finds the money to keep both coordinators for a couple years. It’s been a long time since Miami has had consistency with coordinators and locker room cohesion. Need a couple years with the key staff in place.

I can’t remember the last time that our coordinators consistently gave our team a competitive advantage. Guidry for sure has

Gotta base out of 42, but you can use 33. I used to run the 33 stack all the time. I just think you gotta base out of a 4 man line.

I am not a proponent of 33 based nickel defenses

Im sure he said he did it because of the injuries at DLine for us.

To add to that, I was giddy as **** during the first quarter about it--was super happy to see it. In my post, I referenced Guidry's effort to turn the WLB into a hybrid pass rusher that is able to play a second level B gap and also able to come down to a 5/9 tech in the bear front. That gives you the flexibility to do what Guidry did.
