Dr. Anna Price passed away yesterday.

If you know, you know.

Essentially built UM's academic support program within the Athletic Department. Legendary. Beloved by every student-athlete who interacted with her.

Also, the former mayor of South Miami (the job she left UM for).

She came to Miami just about the same time I enrolled there. Our paths never crossed, but I wish they had. In the 70’s at Miami, there were no calls to end DEI or eliminate “woke” language and ideology from curriculum,. Bc people didn’t think like that. Maybe a few random right wing A**holes, some wanna be ***** or Birchers, but by and large everyone accepted and valued each other. Anna Price wasn’t the exception to the rule, she was the expectation of the rule, Equal Opportunity regardless of race, color, religion or creed. An exceptional human doing an exceptional job. Thankfully for us at The U. Thank you for that service Anna, R.I.P.

I remember meeting her back in the ninties at the Student Union. She was wearing a white rope around her neck like a tie. I think it was during mlk week... she was cool
