If coaches find out you're flipped, they will put on the pressure to make you stay true to your word. But if you don't make it public then the coaches think it's all good and don't have the opportunity to make you stay true to your word.

Remember the four hour phone conversation Urban Meyer supposedly had with the Safety recruit back in like '08/'09? If Urban doesn't know there's an issue, he doesn't do that. If he doesn't do that, the kid likely ends up elsewhere.
