Venebles may be in trouble

But besides Mateer, as of now their other offensive additions say otherwise

I think this board would do well to stop focusing on what other programs r doing unless they actually watch other programs besides Miami. They actually signed some real studs from HS on Offense who were Top 15 in the nation at their position, & a couple of NR HS players at their time of recruitment that r now re-ranked in the portal.

Along w/ hiring two of the most important guys to coach the offense, I would say OU has done a lot. The ? is will that help? Who knows; they could go 11-1 next season or 1-11. That’s y u play the games; my point had nothing to do w/ what will happen to OU next season. I was addressing two things:

1. Nothing will happen to Brent this season, &
2. OU cares about football which is y they made the moves they did

Whether these moves come to fruition in helping Brent stave off the hot seat is not my concern b/c OU is not on my radar.

Both of my grandfathers served in Korea. One in the Navy, the other in the Army.

My grandfather from the Army is buried in the PR National Cemetery. The reason I mention this is because the land was initially under the jurisdiction of the US Navy. In time, the Army got a hold of it. I believe members of all branches can now be buried there.

I have family members from the island and states currently serving.

I tried to enlist when I was 19. I was a teenage parent. I also had some legal issues. These issues precluded young PIB from enlisting. I remember taking the four train uptown from 125 to the Kingsbridge Armory. Took the test and all that. One day, I sat down with someone, and he told me they "don't do that any more," that I'd have to take care of my situation first. Thing is, that would have taken me five years.

Everything worked out in the end, but I WISH I could have served. I have nothing but the utmost respect for military members. God bless you and thanks for the contributions.

*** I live about an hour from West Point. I plan to go to an Army game or two per year. West Point is an amazing place to visit.

Back in the early 1970s when we lived in Brooklyn, my parents used to take my brothers and me to West Point. I remember my brothers and I having the run of the WP grounds, jumping on the tanks and howitzers on the grounds and trying to aim one towards Dad who would pretend to attack us.....lol...fast forward to 2020, I returned for first time in 50 years with wife...checked out their museum for a couple of hours, I could have stayed there for 5 hours checking out all the military artifacts. Cool place. Dying to return, especially during fall. Naval Academy is cool too. Used to take my weekend walks on the Academy grounds.

That's pretty cool. When i was a kid I watched a game at West Point. They'd shoot the canon and the cheerleaders (whatever they are) started doing pushups. They didn't care that I was on the field or anything. Fun times. Not as cool as being in a tank, lol. But I remember the lax rules (this was the 90s)

Yeah on the new rules to access. It's tightened to enter Naval Academy plus at West Point one has to fill out paperwork on-site and interview just for a pass to enter campus so we said fck that as we had still access to the museum outside entrance which is amazing. They have artifacts dating from medieval times in Europe to weapons, uniforms, etc dating from 1600s to current era. There is even a WW1 tank. And, of course, sports related memorabilia from 1800s to current.
