First off...

I wouldn't be 2-gapping up front cause it's obviously killing us. We can't do it.

Also I would account for the zone read.

But continue to be naive.

They can't scrap the entire defensive philosophy of their front in November. The run fits would have to be completely reworked. We had no problem in September. What's the issue now? Oh right, we ALWAYS WEAR DOWN.

I see guys in position to make a play but not good enough to actually make it.

Mccord missing that tackle was the only play where the guy was in position and didnt make the play. More often than not, we are asking a bad defender to read what move the offensive player is about to make in open field and then make a play.

????? That is what you do in football. The bad player part you are certainly right about.

The problem is that is not the position you want to put your players in. You want your players to be in position that as soon as the guy touches the ball, there is someone there to put a hand on him so he does not get into open field. Once a guy gets into open field, one juke and he's racking up yards.
