Can you imagine Randy addressing the media at practice the day the news hits?
"The team is a little nicked up, upper extremeties.. but guys were flying around.... It's a process."

It's always a good morning to open up the Football Board and see a new Dan E. post.
The thing that makes me laugh are the people who say we have nothing to gain by scheduling USF and everything to lose. You sound like gators to me and validate the statement that the gators make when they say the same about us.
I remember that day like yesterday.... it's the only day i've walked out of the stadium after a loss with a HUGE smile on my face. I knew Randy was gone after that game, and there was nothing that could bring me more joy at that moment in time. I will also hold a soft spot in my hear for USF, if it weren't for them, we might still be flailing around under corch.
If Jim Leavitt was still their coach at that time they probably would have been able to squeeze more out of that win than they actually did. I actually thought Shannon would get one more year considering he was given an extension that same season. It all worked out at the end for us.
Another year or two of Shannon and this program would have officially died especially with the NCAA stuff
I said it at the time and I'll continue saying it....USF did us the biggest favor in the history of this program when they beat us that day. There's no doubt in my mind Shannon would have survived another year otherwise and we'd be that much farther behind the curve right now.
Can you imagine what additional years under Shannon combined with the NCAA mess would have looked like without Golden?
When they're not playing us, I won't root against USF. We owe them a lot when you come to think about it.
