I know it's still 6 wks or so away, but was wonderin' if anybody was plannin' on going to the USF game this year. Contemplatin makin the drive from Biloxi, MS and was lookin at tix on Stub Hub. Anybody have any recommendations seating or section wise that's been to Raymond James Stadium before? Would be my first road game and any info would be nice since I'm travelin with the fam. Hotel, parking, pack heat? u know **** like that.

I think Mons Venus is right down the street.

I already bought tickets through the HC. What hotels do y'all recommend?

Don't know about hotels, but one of the best paellas I've had in The States is at The Colombia House in Ybor City.

If you stay by the stadium, mostly strip clubs but you also have International Mall which has some bars and restaurants. A little older crowd at some of those spots that are not to bad. Do not stay anywhere in downtown if you are looking for nightlife. Tampa has a terrible downtown. They are trying to get some bars around there but not too much. We have Channelside by downtown (where Lightning play) but most of the bars have closed, really thing still there is Hooters.

South Tampa (Howard Ave) is where the 30 year old + (young professionals) crowd hangs out. You have good restaurants and bars but not to many hotels. You can walk to multiple bars and check out a lot of Tampa's talent. If you stay by stadium this is about a 10 minute car ride.

Ybor City - I wouldn't stay down in this area but it's decent to go hang out. A different type of crowd as it's a poor man's Bourbon Street. You will see a lot of younger people, some of them you don't necessarily feel comfortable around when you've been drinking.

By USF campus, pretty far from stadium so wouldn't suggest. Some local college hangouts but nothing too great IMO.

You won't see taxi's all over the place so I would call in advance if you are trying to get somewhere timely.

I suggest stay close to stadium since it is pretty centrally located. It's possible to wlk to the stadium from some hotels but make sure you where good shows. I will try to find a couple spots and post.

This Marriott isn't the best in the world but $69 a night and it's 5 minutes away by car. You could walk to the stadium but a hike. This hotel would also give you good access to International Mall (5 minutes away) and South Tampa (10 minutes). For price and centrally located, good deal.

**** it just gonna drive down to the crib and watch opening night vs FAU.
