USC Kedon Slovis in Portal

OK, well back to Slovis since this is what this thread is about.

He was only a 3 star kid coming out & SC fans ain’t mad he’s leaving at all, especially since they have #2 overall player & #2 QB committed to them for the class of ‘23. Slovis is a casualty of an immensely better future QB room.

You can't consider Vinny Testaverde a bust....played 21 seasons in NFL and when he retired was like #6 all time in passing yards...completions and TDs I believe...and like a 3x Probowler....

That is faaaaar from a bust....

A bust is JaMarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith, Johnny Manziel, Jake Locker, Cade McNown, Todd Blackledge....

Those are bust types...
Rick Mirer, Heath Shuler, Mitch Trubisky, Art Schlicter, Andre Ware, David Klingler, Dan McGwire, Tim Couch, David Carr, Jim Druckenmiller, Kelly Stouffer, Joey Harrington, Kyle Boller, Brady Quinn, Chad Pennington...I know what a bust is. What you're not considering is draft position. The higher you are drafted, the higher the expectations. If you come nowhere near fulfilling those expectations, you are a bust.

Vinny was the #1 overall pick. The best prospect in college football that year. His career NFL ratio was 275TD/267INT. That's out of 6701 attempts, which is a 3.98% INT ratio. That is a bust for a 3rd round pick, much less for #1 overall. Rich Gannon, taken 97 picks after Vinny, had a 2.5% INT ratio.

Also, the Pro Bowl doesn't mean all that much in the NFL. Many Pro Bowlers decline the invitation, resulting in 2nd and 3rd alternates playing in the game. F'n Mitch Trubisky made a Pro Bowl. You saying he's not a bust?
I believe you're talking about Ricky Town, who was overrated. Nice arm but slow feet.

Thought it was Max Browne
Again, it was Joey Yellen, ASU transfer.

A bust is a total bust that is out of the league after a few years. Does not hardly start...etc...
Those you listed as well as the ones I listed prior are busts
Now Chad Pennington is not a bust....thats funny...He was a franchise QB that unfortunately succumbed to terrible shoulder injuries.
Ask some of the pros I know...Chad was a baller

Even after his injury, he still hung around the league for quite a few years as a solid starter. He was a stud before the shoulder went out.
