Hey, this guy is priceless. The coach needs to grow a pair and get off twitter and talk to the media, even his friends in Orlando. Mix it up a little, Urbie. Take some questions and explain how you handled the bar fight involving your 17-year-old player and allegations that the said player (Mr. Hernandez) and another, Reggie Nelson, were connected to a couple guys fired upon and shot in Gainesville. Tell how it is the charges were never brought and key witnesses were shut up - err, decided against cooperating or pressing charges. ****, at least quit texting long enough to give your contrition to your reliable media pal in Gainesville or your SI publicist (formerly NY Times).

Hernandez was among the former Gators questioned in connection with a 2007 shooting Gainesville police have classified as an open attempted homicide. Hernandez matched the description of a man accused of firing the bullets that hit the driver in the head and a passenger in the arm, according to a police report obtained by the Orlando Sentinel. Less than 20 hours after giving the statement, one of the witnesses withdrew his identification of Hernandez as the trigger man, according to the report.

When Meyer was asked about the incident, he told the Sun an assistant coach informed him the players were questioned as witnesses and, "I didn't think about it again until a couple of days ago.”


You couldn't make this **** up. A witness identified Hernandez as a triggerman in the 2007 shooting. An assistant coach tells Urban, but, well, he didn't think about it again until a couple days ago. Are you kidding me? This is better than Bobby Bowden in his prime. One can only assume Urban had Hernandez running stadiums steps every morning at 6.

He's a ******* weasel. He's picking friendly targets to try to control the message. He will never allow answer tough questions about the lawlessness in Gainesville.
 
The ncaa is not going after Florida we all know that this thing is going to get swept under the rug. You noticed the media hasn't been talking about this like they should. When the Nevin story broke every news outlet was covering it we didn't even get the benifit of the doubt... but this can open up a can of worms urban Myers don't want he tried to escape from Florida but his pass is catching up to him... but I hope the NC2A look more into it something real shaddy is going on at the university of Florida...

THINKING THE EXACT SAME THNG.....ONCE THEY ALL START FLIPPIN' ON EACH OTHER, URBIE WILL ONCE AGAIN PULL THAT WORN OUT "HEALTH CARD" TO GET SYMPATHY FROM THE MEDIA DIRECTY AFTER HERNANDEZ HANDS HIM UP ON A SILVER PLATTER....
 
I find it funny, and not just because it's Florida, that there's not more about this being written or talked about.
It seems pretty obvious from an outside perspective that there was some serious covering-up and shenanigans going on under Meyer.
Put this together with his sudden departure due to "health issues" and there's a lot of smoke.
I also laugh at his wifes self-righteous indignation in her tweet, little does she know all she did was make herself look like she had something to worry about.
