updates from Herald w/ RW and Olsen interviews

Interesting that Williams was throwing Coley under a bus there "he ran the wrong route which led to the interception".

Also I don't like the Dorito quote about Crawford either - "we knew when the light came on....". You guys have been playing him at RB for the last two years. That quote, in that context, makes it sound like Dallas is only just grasping college football.

I don't see that as "throwing Coley under a bus." As the QB Williams has to be a leader of the offense. Coley made a mistake, he's a sophomore, it's going to happen. Williams also stated that he talked with Coley afterwards about it to fix what he did wrong. That's the leadership we need at the QB position.

You keep that in house though.

I guess I just don't see it that way. It's not a major issue, it's just discussion of football and what happened in practice. No different than saying, yeah, he dropped the ball but we're working on it. I doubt Coley would see William's comments as a negative or "throwing him under the bus."

Agreed. He was explaining the play and how he is trying to be more of a leader. "...he was really confused because it wasn't really a play we worked a lot. I talked to him right after the play and made sure he knew what happened."

Leadership. In a scrimmage. In the spring.

People love to play "What I should have said theatre" around here:
- Al says something politically correct, it is him being a used car salesman. They want him to be "honest."
- Williams explains the play, including Coley's role in it, and he is throwing him under the bus.

- Maybe he could have said, there was a miscommunication on the play, so I discussed it with Coley and made sure we were on the same page. ---- Board response likely would have been -- Golden has these guys programmed so much they talk like him and can't play or talk freely. I thought Williams knew the plays. Golden is starting him because he is a senior. ******* Diabetus Gut loyalty. All Hail Olsen....until Kaaya gets here.

- Or he could have been tough and honest and cool, like he posts anonymously on a message board, and said it was lucky that Coley missed his read so that Burns could make a play, but Burns sucks - where was that against Louisville. The kid is an Ok track star trying to play football. We're ****ed.

Dallas Crawford needs to start alongside Bush with Jenkins and Carter as the backups. We are in big-time need of a sure tackler back there.

yeah, because a freshmen defensive back with little playing time during the regular season, playing on a defense that can't dial up pressure on one of the best quarterbacks and offenses in college football, should be expected to play like an all-american.

I have read on here people down about Burns due to him getting beat up by Louisville and at other points in the season.

That is my point. I am being critical of those who were on his case, not Burns himself.
