Update on numbers and transfers post-signing day

This is tough to really quantify because the kids are in all different classes and it’s tough to definitively say a grad transfer for 1 year is more impactful than someone who could play 2-3 years, like Martin for example, but I could argue that Braun would be the best get out of anyone in the portal other than Martell.

Pairing these skill positions players with a hopefully competent QB in a 21st century offense AND significantly upgrading the line can’t be understated. Putting Braun at LG possibly upgrades this entire team more than any 1 other player does/could, assuming Martell has to sit. This would be that big of a get.

I haven't seen Braun but I think you're underselling how big of an upgrade Nnoruka is and how good Martin is.

We know what we have at DT and it's far from ideal in terms of quality and quantity. The young OL haven't had a chance to prove themselves with a new offensive staff and a year of growth.

If true, that’s just weird. Ahmonn still on scholly but his brother isn’t!?!! We handle a difficult situation with the upmost class and care (with the best interest of the kid clearly in mind) & his dumb@$$ bro goes to aub. :/ It just feels weird.

(This post no way insenuates that I think Malek and AR should not have schollys from um. If true, im glad they still do and support it)
His bro don’t owe Miami a **** thing. Keeping AR on scholarship was and still is the right thing to do but that literally has nothing to do with his little bro and his choices.

Braun is that line captain we need. Wonder if he plays C as well.
Phillips to me was always going to contribute in 2020. Get in our S.C. next year and get healthy. We loose Hill and possibly Garvin with a big year.
Phillips then competes with Harvey and Williams for starting position in 2020.
I would LOVE to see Braun at C with Gaynor/Reed at LG and Donaldson at RG.

So you literally said you haven’t seen the kid I’m talking about, but you’re essentially disagreeing with what I said? I love this site so much.

Worst thing that happened to the Heat was finishing 30-10 a couple of years ago and then giving out those ridiculous contracts to Whiteside, JJ, matching for Tyler Johnson...rebuilding is gonna be tough because Heat is capped out and has virtually no tradeable contracts. That unprotected 2021 1st round pick from the Dragic trade is looking worse and worse by the day.

How can they have 2 spots left if they can only sing 25 player per cycle.? And they already have 17 HS and 8 transfers. Do they make 2 transfers wait until fall? Or is someone getting kicked out?

So you literally can't comprehend language, but you're essentially arguing with a straw man? I love this site so much. Haha look at me I'm so witty and clever with my sarcasm.

If Braun is so great please enlighten me on his skillset. I'd love to hear your analysis of him as a player. I'll just pretend that your opinion of him isn't entirely based on whatever accolades and experience he has.

Hint: I never disagreed with your post. The purpose of mine was to underline how those 2 players are probably better than you think and how the status of the depth chart is currently. If you actually watched the film of these players instead of making assumptions based on general data points like recruiting rankings, production and experience you might understand. But instead you're so eager to lash out like a douchebag that you completely miss the value of what I said.

Either way - ignore listed. I'll let the rest of the board deal with your insecurities.

I believe both are on some sort of medical exception scholarship. School honors their scholly but it does not count toward the 85. This happened to a friend of mine at UNC.

Heat are never going to rebuild or be bad enough where they'll be a top lottery team. Problem is they didnt draft Booker or Mitchell when they had the chance to truly have that #1option

To be fair to the Heat, almost half the league whiffed on Booker and Mitchell.

Riley has never been a huge build through the draft proponent, bringing in Mourning and Hardaway for those late 90s teams...Shaq to help D-Wade for the first title and LeBron and Bosh for their most recent run. Heat didn't draft a single one of those players.

Being at the top of the lottery sometimes takes multiple years of tanking. Philly whiffed on Okafor and Fultz while getting Embiid and Simmons. A lot of teams have cleared cap space for one or two max players in the upcoming FA season....has to be frustrating for Riley to be capped out with Hassan caliber players.

Unfortunately, the Heat is stuck in the momentum of mediocrity.

No I get that, they just were the next options after Justise and Bam. Now the cap looks bad now but this time next year they'll actually be in a good spot to get the money off finally especially if Whiteside and Dragic play well. The contracts are terrible as a whole and Riley knows it so I say bite the bullet for the most part for the next 365 then we can be ok but I can handle it I mean we haven't been the New York Bricks we've had memorable success that doesn't have me dying to win now lol

My comment was in response to me interpreting a poster saying that because AR is receiving that scholarship his brother should have came here. My scholarship was honored also after I was no longer able to realistically contribute due to injury.

Don’t know if y’all remember but Justise was supposed to be a top 5 pick but the problem is that he’s wasn’t really developing because of his injuries. He’s showing signs this year he can be a 20 point guy within the next year or so which has me thinking it was a good pick at the end because he was also a perfect fit. Bam on the other hand should’ve been Jarrett Allen, John Collins, or Kyle Kuzma.

The Bricks have been a disaster since James Dolan bought the team. Bringing in Phil Jackson turned into an epic fail. This last move, trading away the Unicorn and Hardaway Jr cleared some cap space, but not sure they're gonna draw KD or Kyrie...Adam Silver would, I am positive, love to see Zion in NYC.

Not sure if Justise, JRich and Bam are a high enough quality core to build around. Frustrating b/c they do show flashes. Even at 37, D-Wade is often the best Heat player on the floor. Whiteside is, I think, a dinosaur with the rapid changes in style of play. Painful to watch him constantly clog the lane...even more painful to watch him at the free throw line.

Hopefully, Goran comes back healthy from his knee surgery. Think the Heat really miss him, but even with Dragic, the Heat were an easy 1st round out for the 76ers last year and it's not like the ceiling is any higher this year...

Still better than watching Steve Ross' ineptitude with the Fins or the Marlins ongoing struggles.

In all of those examples...just shows how much leadership matters...in the Canes case, let's hope that Manny is closer to Riley than he is to Ross or Dolan...I have faith.

Braun jumped off the screen to me in gtech game. Trevon Hill would have had a double digit sack season for vtech.
