I don’t think the umpire suddenly squeezing him helped tonight, but that wasn’t a factor in several of the others.

I don’t think the pitch count is necessarily a problem. A “normal” inning gets him out just under 100. You just need to have a quick hook ready. I would love to save another inning of bullpen.

It's crazy that even major leaguers can't learn to do that. Even bunting against that shift is a sure base hit.
