UM coaches using grades to select starting quarterback

If Willaims is even an option, that shows you how bad the QB situation is. A full season of awful QB play last year, and Williams was not an option. Now, he's fighting for the starting job, and already had it barring injury.

2010 at best.

Doubt seniority is a category in this "grading system" so can we slow down with "if Heaps starts it's only because he's a senior" talk? This is assuming they actually stick to this grading system to make the decision.

What you grade and the weight you give things can go a long way to determine the type of QB you pick and therefore which one out of a given group. Morris got the job because he "Took command". Leadership is important, but if you over weigh in lieu of talent, you pre-select. We hear about "verbal leadership" all the time. Never a one on "having that special something". I have no doubt Al wants Heaps to win, but Kaaya might be just to good. I don't mind a senior QB with a bunch of D1 starts but I don't like being treat like a fool. Let me make the parameters and I'll have an excellent idea of the outcome. Still, I don't care if Al wants to start Heaps, so long as he doesn't repeat that crap from last year where he sticks with his QB as we continue to suck.

They are both gonna play. That is my prediction. Coaches will say they aren't big fans of playing two but they have no choices bc each of them bring something to the table. I wouldn't mind that either to be honest. Let Heaps take the first couple series at UL so Kaaya can get a read and come in when the nerves have settled.

The scale for golden is based on 90% seniority 10% everything else

Not true! Coaches know more than you and I, and I venture to say they want to win more too.

Exactly. They have their careers on the line while the internet fans only have their fragile egos to worry about.

If Golden was truly worried and his career was actually on the line, he would've fired his best bud and sorry excuse for a D-coordinator Dorito. Coaches have their blind spots, and don't always make sound decisions.
