UM announces Enos as OC, releases statement

We're not putting up 40 points a game with the offense he ran at Arkansas unless we suddenly get an OL stacked with legit NFL talent. That's precisely what I wanted an uptempo spread offense because it is not dependent upon having a dominant OL.
To beat bama and Clemson both dl and ol have to be really good.

Dan Enos is a Top 5-Top 10 Offensive Guru, and he will prove it here.

Hope all of you that are shytting on the guy without knowing much about him or giving him a chance are ready to eat some Crow-A La Carte.

This guy is the antithesis of Richterscale. Excellent hire in my opinion.

Outstanding hire give this coaching staff some time to weed out the program we are set.please no banners against this staff this year of next year.need to start showing our coaches some love so they wouldn't want to leave aka butch.

Ummmm...I take a wait and see approach with this. Gotta watch tape of his offense. I was hoping for a modern spread offense, but we'll see.

Well that sucks because we haven't had a really OL since the Clinton administration. How about we beat Duke and UVA in the same season before we put ourselves on the same level as Bama and Clemson?
we can still beat duke and va offensive players this looked they weren't prepared to play.guarantee you Manny and company will make sure they will be.you will see a difference from day one

I think this hire is two-fold. First off, the haters need to check Alabama's offense. They ran a spread concept combined with a power running game. Let's not get it twisted. Alabama threw the ball a lot last year with Tua.

Secondly, I think the writing is on the wall. Expect Jalen Hurts to transfer to Miami. He already knows the offense that we'll be running and obviously has a relationship with the OC. He's going to have an edge over the current QB room.

The question is whether any of our current QBs will transfer if Hurts comes to Miami. That could be problematic for the future.

Your not very bright are you.
Ok Stephen Hawking. Explain to me what you like about hiring an offensive coordinator who's only successful season as a play caller was the year his team was loaded with NFL talent? I swear some of you guys think this is a good hire just because we are getting him from Alabama.

P.S. it's "You're"

We don't need to be Oregon circa 2014 to win the Coastal and play Clemson.

We just need to be more efficient on offense, more balanced and turn the ball over less.

Enos would probably never admit this but he is probably ecstatic to come into a situation like ours with some good pieces to the puzzle and knowing that he will have to game plan against the likes of Duke, UNC and Virginia in order to get where he wants to go.
( Another chance at Clemson.)
He's probably going to get Jalen Hurts to transfer here as well. Not saying I like it cause I'm loyal to our current QB room, but it makes sense.

Am I the only one who feels completely underwhelmed by this hire? Pro style offense for life, bro.

Probably, but that is to be expected, your negative. This guy is well known in the coaching community and a QB specialist that has called plays. He's tailor made to solve UM's issues and a great hire. The coaching community knows this guy and that's what really matters. Do you really think someone coaches at Alabama with results he had and isn't a high caliber coach? Much better coach than Lane Kiffin, no comparison.

First, I am not "negative". I was actually very enthusiastic about Applewhite. I literally posted "I'm excited" in the thread about him. I also like the DC hire and the S&C hire.

Second, you mentioned results. Fine, let's talk results. Enos may very well be a good QB coach. That's great. But his results as an OC/play caller are underwhelming. Stats posted in this thread: https://www.canesinsight.com/threads/the-tale-of-dan-penos-in-numbers.144499/#post-3796996

He was the head coach at Central Michigan from 2010-2014:
Total offense:
2010: 49th
2011: 57th
2012: 64th
2013: 110th
2014: 70th

Here’s what he does as offensive coordinator at Arkansas:

2015: 25th
2016: 54th
2017: 94th

Tell me why I should be excited about this hire without using the word "Bama"?
