He is correct. If there was a leader like Alonzo Highsmith and Melvin Bratton to start the trend then everyone else would follow.
It means some kids are programmed to follow and not lead.
That statement is true for every athletic program at Miami. South Florida, the State of Miami along with the State of Florida has more than enough talent for every athletic program at Miami to win conference championships and compete for NCAA championships on a yearly basis.
Part of the issue is with the kids have no state pride but part of the issue is our coaches are late at identifying talent and offering scholarships before schools outside of Florida. Recruiting is a full time job in itself and our coaches have to always be in contact with recruits.
