In Miami, you typically get a second chance with deferred prosecution agreements (PTI/PTD) - it is a breach of your contract as a defendant to get arrested while in a deferred prosecution program, but they often don't kick people out for one misstep in M-D County. I don't know if that's the case in Gainesville. He was still in the program for his last arrest, so he could be bounced from the program and end up with 2 pending criminal cases for which he is not eligible for deferred prosecution. It wouldn't make much a difference for him as far as penalties, but it could be bad for UF, as they might have to take more aggressive disciplinary action against him.
